SS&P was where I first saw the idea, though they use a slightly different system. Tbh the trends I've seen is for board games to either ignore it, or create their own bespoke system.

The original ColorSym devs made it CC BY-SA 4.0. So it's free to use/modify with attribution to the original project. Which was one of the reasons I got interested in it. Accessibility should be free!

Magenta is tricky though. Because you can't really get there by just combining red blue and yellow. The original ColorSym designers made a choice using r/b/y instead of cmyk, but I get why since those colors are the more commonly used ones in board games. Still, it makes expressing it hard.

That's a great question. I'd probably file teal under the light blue umbrella, and magenta under pink. Maybe you could try expressing teal as green with an extra blue ^? Someone would probably need to experiment to find a system that works when combining multiple r/b/y symbols.

I kind of agree. Pink was one of ColorSym's original glyphs. So I didn't want to delete it in my experiment. The pink column would be my first cut if this were ever to become something official.

That is true! ColorSym used its glyphs to describe how you arrive at a color by combining its base glyphs. So I included dark orange more as a proof of concept using that philosophy. Sort of like when you have two words that mean almost the same thing, just in slightly different ways.

Recently I found out about colorsym.com and fell in love/got a little bit obsessed with it. Since the creators generously made the idea free to use and modify I felt inspired to try expanding on what they had done. It was a fun little experiment! I'll have to find a use for these one day.

Been testing out ideas for doing stylized maps of real places for a free Keyhole scenario. Mostly focusing on topography and terrain. This one I think finally got to where I like it!

For #wipwednesday I sadly don't have a map to show off because my #ttrpg group decided last session they want me to run Reach of the Roach God. So Instead I've been working on a custom character sheet for that that will use a slightly homebrewed version of Mork Borg.

Woke up to over 200 followers. Thanks everyone! Here's a map I made that ended up getting use in a short #dnd campaign. Peaceguard used to be the capital, until the cruel king sealed himself inside and closed off the island. But that was 100 years ago so he's surely dead by now. Right? #fantasymaps

My partner has a need to fiddle with and dismantle things while on long work calls. Somehow this morning he found a lightbulb to play with. I had to take it away from him like when you find a dog chewing on something they shouldn't. (Don't worry, I replaced it for him with one of our cat's toys)

When I was about 13 my dad got my younger brother and I the #dnd 3.5 starter box, and DMed the included adventure for us. Ever since then I've been in love with TTRPGs. Shortly after that I even started DMing for my dad and brother, I just couldn't stop.

One of my favs is Kingpink, more specifically the Kingpink: Darkness version. It's a card based co-op game where everyone builds a list of themes and then uses those to help narrate the conflicts and what their character does. Really easy to get started and play as a one off or as long as you want.

One of my favorite inspirations for horror is Mushishi, which does a kind of folk horror. A lot of the "monsters" in it are basically just animals that have their own supernatural ecosystems which humans accidentally stumble into.

My current "for fun" project is practice in stocking a blank 200+ room dungeon. Forgot how much I enjoy just placing lil' guys in a dungeon and thinking about how the various groups would interact. I'm sorry there's a zombified ogre in your kitchen random thugs, but it won't be your problem forever.

A mono-color map centers around a region call the gnawing sea. The loose concept was that at some point wood-eating worms infected the salt water seas here, making travel by boat functionally impossible. The geography was very loosely inspired by Greece, Turkey, and Northern Egypt.
