Some more progress on my #heartover sweater testknit for @ambahobrien.bsky.social Ive almost used up my first skein. I misread how many rows i had to knit before i separated the front & back. So yesterday there were some very tense moments as i put in a lifeline & ripped back 4 rows 😂 #knitsky 🧶

Sweater knitting progress. Lilac heart lace has grown and the ball of yarn thats attached is almost used up.

The hearts in the lace are a bit difficult to see but once it has been blocked the design will be easier to see.

Blocking in this sense means wetting the garment and laying it out to dry. The lace is gently stretched open during the process which makes it lie flat and the patterns are easy to see

The shawl still needs to be blocked. This process of washing and spreading out the shawl flat to dry will smooth out the fabric and open up the lace.

For some Friday fun I've decided to start a regular feature where I �will spotlight a previously published pattern from my catalog of over 250 designs with a tasty 50% off. I finished my Euphorbia wrap. Design is from @ambahobrien.bsky.social and I used the 2024 advent box from The Camel’s Yarn with a Beachcombing theme on super soft DK wool minis. 🧶

Wrap is now worn in a style where it is doubled over and pulled through itself like a scarf. Its bulk is around the neck

This is the original kit with the mohair and bonus skein with the #jollyjumper i knit with it (just realised i havent taken photos of it blocked yet 🤦‍♀️🤭) I used the mohair held with the fingering weight yarn and knit the stripes the same size Pattern by @ambahobrien.bsky.social

A full kit of 24 minis, a 100g bonus skein and 4 mohair.

The minis are bright pastel colours ranging from purple, blue, aqua teal, yellow, peach and pink.

The bonus skein on the bottom left is a peachy orange. The mohair skeins above the bonus skein are (top to bottom) pink, soft peach, soft teal and a light blue with the smallest whispering hint of purple

The colours are the same as the kit and are knit in vertical stripes in the order of the kit running from cuff to cuff. Each stripe is the same width but sometimes this is harder to see as a strand of mohair has been knit with the fingering yarn and it gives a soft muted effect to the colours.

The collar and hem have been knit with the orange peachy bonus skein + a strand of the peachy mohair

Cleaning out my studio this week and found this, my first FO for 2024, a bulky version of the Dreamy Valentine Shawl. Something sweet for your needles and to wear! Last year I updated the Zola Jacket to include more sizes; it now fits 30-60" bust sizes 🧶 Knit top-down, with mosaic trim that is so much easier to knit than it looks as you are only ever working a single colour per row #ambahobrien #knitting #knit
