Honestly, bottom two incentives are peak incentives not gonna lie. This also reminds me I need to look for the old Speed Racer cartoon.

Oh, I know at least one specific Wii game from 2010 I'd plug, and I'm sure you had that in mind making this comment too.

Good to see you got it working! I do remember the software side being insufferable and that's really kept me from digging further into modernizing my Gamecube but I'll have to get back to it some year and deal with similar problems.

While I have seen both, I propose a theory that there is a secret third Koko that lives somewhere off the internet. Maybe even a fourth that only surfaces in crowds!

"Posi vibes??" Koko, the single concentrated place I hear like 95% of insults is in your stream... But you laughing at them is pretty fun, carry on I guess.

Very good and useful to know before you try digging into something. I just finished a case swap and joystick replacement on Joycon 2s and in those the joystick and cap were one unit which sucked because it meant I couldn't swap out the second joystick for a TMR one which is what made me ask.

110

Amari Elder @amari.archaisticlibrary.net · 22/07/2026

Hell yeah! Do you know if the joysticks are like separate parts and you're only replacing the cap or are they one part and you need to replace the whole unit?

My go-to on this topic has always been Terry Pratchett:

So, instead, I give tips on how to be a professional boxer. A good diet is essential, of course, as is a daily regime of exercise. Pay attention to your footwork, it will often get you into trouble. Go down to the gym every day – every day of your life that finds you waking up capable of standing. Take every opportunity to watch a good professional fight. In fact watch as many bouts as you can, because you can even learn something from the fighters who get it wrong. Don’t listen to what they say, watch what they do. And don’t forget the diet and the exercise and the roadwork.

Got it? Well, becoming a writer is basically exactly the same thing, except that it isn’t about boxing.

A quote from Terry Pratchett, in A Slip of the Keyboard: Collected Non-Fiction

Le Guin on the idea that there is a secret to getting good at writing.

I will dispose of the first myth as quickly as possible. The “secret” is skill. If you haven’t learned how to do something, the people who have may seem to be magicians, possessors of mysterious secrets. In a fairly simple art, such as making pie crust, there are certain teachable “secrets” of method that lead almost infallibly to good results; but in any complex art, such as housekeeping, piano-playing, clothes-making, or story-writing, there are so many techniques, skills, choices of method, so many variables, so many “secrets,” some teachable and some not, that you can learn them only by methodical, repeated, long-continued practice — in other words, by work.

Vel says "rambling" but I'd say it very eloquently explains why I like working with other people on creative endeavors. I'm painfully aware of my own limitations and often times even trading random thoughts with others will open up paths I'd never consider alone. You should read the whole thread!

Did you know you can just commission artists to make things for you? You give them some money and they create art for you! You don't have to do any work and you get art custom-made just for you! Or you can get involved and offer references and info and make it more of a collab. You can just do that!

This will probably be weird to hear, but you don't owe us anything for your birthday. It would be a fun celebration of course, but you've got worries to cover and I think most of us will understand; you're not disappointing us. P.S., don't tell Koko, but every stream of hers is a party anyways.
