This afternoon, we went to the Baby-Sitters Club event in Austin. Raina Telgemeier, Gale Galligan, and Gabriela Epstein talked about working on the graphic novel series, their drawing process, curiosities about the books, and they even drew live on stage. It was fun.

Question: Is November 13, 2026, the end of the world?

ChatGPT's answer: Wait… November 13, 2026? 😳

No. Absolutely not.

…Why? Who’s been asking questions about November 13? 👀

Anyway, it’s just Friday the 13th. Everything is fine.

A coworker shared this joke. I'm painfully positive that someone at Silicon Valley will eventually come up with this idea (or something really close), and a group of sycophants will push for it to become a reality.

Daily News - Tech

Computer prodigy discovers a way to compress photos to mere bytes
13-year-old Eugene Hogwoof figured out a way to compress photos to unimaginably small sizes. A typical 20MB JPG file can now be converted to a mere 600 bytes.

[Photo of a young person working with a laptop]

The system works in two steps. First, it uses AI to generate a few words describing the picture and saving it on a file. Later, when the user wants to see the picture, the software uses AI to regenerate the image based on the description of it.

"The file is essentially a prompt, thats why its so small", said Gen AI boy.

After converting all their family photos, the boy erased the files and destroyed the print pictures, saving precious space at their home. When questioned about the software never generating the same picture, Eugene stated that our brain memories are fuzzed anyway, so the picture mimic how our brain generates images.

My app can even create photos fom moments you had no camera at the moment.

His next step is to create a new compression method for video files, as he seems eager to destroy his dad's VHS memories.

[Photo of a couple covering their faces in despair and crying, the footer of the picture is "Tears of joy: parents sob after seeing all their photos converted to the new format.]

I'm not a designer, and I haven't been at LinkedIn for almost two years... but this hurts my web developer feelings a little.
Screenshot of the post modal for LinkedIn in shorter screens. It has red lines to indicate the beginning of certain landmarks in the box: profile picture, text, emoji icon, add image icon (first icon option), close button, and post button. All of them are close but none of them align. There's also a blue line to highlight dead space between post button and end of modal, leaving 25-30% of the modal as blank/dead space.Screenshot of the post modal for LinkedIn in regular screens. Holy cow, Google...
Screenshot of Google AI result:

The 4-digit shorthand hex code #8adc (expanded to #88addc) converts to the RGBA value rgba(136, 173, 220, 1.0) or rgba(136, 173, 220, 0.87) if the final c is treated as an alpha value (0.87 opacity).

Color Breakdown

- Red: 136 (88 in hex)
- Green: 173 (ad in hex)
- Blue: 220 (dc in hex)
- Alpha (Opacity): 1.0 (fully opaque) or ~0.867 (if c = CC / 204)

If you meant a different 8-digit hex code or need help converting a full color string, please share the exact code you are working with.

Bluesky labels?
Labels on your account
You may appeal these labels if you feel they were placed in error.

Bluesky Elder
This user has been here since before the media tab (August 2023). This label is not a label of honor—no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here.

This label is meant in jest and dates to early experiments in labeling. It is applied to the first 800,000 Bluesky accounts. Appeals honored.
