I've seen o ne of these in real life. They're a lot bigger than you'd think. Absolutely amazing aircraft.

It's the 60th Anniversary of #Startrek I cannot overstate how influential this franchise has been on my life, and, my own dabbling in story telling. Needless to say, I'm a big fan :) And of course, my Vulpe, because how can I not? Drawn by @moonstalker.net, one of my TOP favorite images of her <3

I've never understood 'playful ribbing'. I'm like, 'IFF Int: [FRND/BLUE]' 'WPN: [HOLD]' It simply does not compute lol.

Hell yeah. I still like the TOS/TMP era the most in terms of aesthetics. Like there's no changing that, it's hard set LOL. But the sleek futurism of TNG is not lost on me. In fact, I've really come to appreciate it as I've matured.

FINALLY figured out fan control on Linux Mint for my Acer Nitro AN515-55! github.com/nbfc-linux/n... GUI: github.com/nbfc-linux/n... Followed the "get started" guide, but it gave me a different model from my PC, but opening it in the GUI showed a list with other AN515 models (chose the 58).

I ... really .. hate that I have to manually check my favorite accounts that I follow because Bsky's notifications are just ineffective. Some people, every single post they make gets to me. Others? It's like a third.

Wait, so what they're saying is ... We can just have these :)? As if it's our ethical obligation to obtain, and enjoy these free games otherwise the developers will have wasted all that effort? How lovely.

Pictured: Sony being outright hostile to their consumers (yet again)

Ohhhhh.. oh man I think I just dodged a bullet. I try to be circumspect in all things but hot damn. I've been battling rust-frozen anchors all month on my free time. The alternative? Buying or renting a diamond coring drill. But no, finally got the fuckers to crack, and the bolt looks good :D :D

Boy howdy. Sure do love. Having near daily service outages. Which last 3+ hours. Ever since the fourth of this month. It really makes me feel like my ISP is providing competitive value and reasonable rates. *looks directly into the camera*

I honestly think this is better than the name brand. There's more Cinnamon flavor. Also, for obvious reasons 🦊

This is one of my favorite images from the Gifs CD for obvious reasons. The part I like the most though? They're obviously on the same side. 'The Inherent goodness of Humanity vs The Duplicitous Outsider' is such a tired trope. I like stories about making cool alien friends a lot more lol.

The only reason why I remember I've got a birthday coming up, is because two of my top favorite people have theirs in a couple of days lol. I don't really observe mine. ... I do .. but it's more in that circumspect day of reflection thing. It's not really a celebration in the conventional sense.

I'm still kinda pupset that Data Crystals never materialized. "But flash drives" Counterpoint: It's a crystal, which makes it at least 7 times cooler.

Apparently Bsky is adding a feature to mute reposts from specific users. I, have reposts globally disabled. I only see quote-posts, because, if I'm being brutally honest, my feed is already biiiiig. I only want to see when people take the time to curate and give context. I mean no malice in that.

If you've ever cleaned the estate of a serious hobbyist or professional, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Somewhere in there. According to whatever system of (un)organization they subscribed to, there's going to be a galaxy of widgets which defy any logical explanation. Objects that...

Why is the nut which is always in the back. Always tucked away behind a right angle. Always at the end of some Labyrinthine access path. Always one that's threaded onto some absolutely irreplaceable anchor bolt or stud... Why is it that one that's rusted rock solid :)

LOL, I blocked someone on Bsky ages ago. One of very, vanishingly few people. Because they were leaving uncomfortably horny comments on images I commissioned. I guess they blocked me back out of spite or something. I thought I was tripping because reply metrics. Oh well, nothing of value lost :)

Wow Bluesky's notifications are just busted for me. "I want to be notified when this account posts" Bsky: Okay, I'll give you 1 notification when they post, 40% of the time. Am I wrong for thinking "notify of activity = all activity"? That's why I liked tweet deck -->

I can't stand overly animate speakers. I know it's 'encouraged' but I genuinely just tune right the fuck out. I learn better by listening quietly and not watching a bunch of gyrations and 'hand speak'. Perhaps it's because I'm riddled with the ADHD; but it feels like someone shaking keys at a baby

The thing I hate most about click bait, is the fact that obviously it works well enough to get people to actually click on it. I can understand a cleverly named title, for a video that genuinely has good information but ... "Professionals hate this one trick!!!" Really? Come on, you know better.

And now for something completely different. Nixie Tubes :3 More specifically, pro/consumer products which used them; and what I see when people render them in art and images. I always see them shown as nice neat rows. But in reality, they often didn't look like that.

Also really loving how Bsky's notifications are a total RNG fest at this point. "Maybe you follow six billion peopple" <- literally no xD I follow very few. It's just like ... sometimes I get notified of someone's post, sometimes I don't.

It's so good to be back :3 So... I didn't wanna say anything. I'm not normally superstitious but, still, didn't want to jinx it. My mother had to have microsurgery; a procedure done on her heart. She's recovering well and it looks like it's corrected the problem, so far :)

I need to read more Fantastika, with a special focus the lesser known bits. It's not because I want to sound like a cool snob or anything (I mean look at my posts most the time it's random and dumb :3) .. I just think Roadside picnic is really interesting.

“I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe” - Marcus Cole
