Hey so Stamps.com is using dynamic pricing and I, a customer for over 12 years, didn't know anything about it until I thought the price of a label seemed high, checked it against the post office cost, and asked them about it. This was their response.

What you're experiencing is part of a broader shift across the shipping industry toward dynamic pricing — a more flexible model where rates adjust more frequently based on market conditions, demand, and operational costs. This is similar to how airlines or ride-sharing services price their services. As a result, rates can fluctuate in ways that may not always align with standard retail pricing at any give time.

To help you stay on top of this and make sure you’re always getting the best rate for every shipment, I’d recommend using our Rate Advisor tool. It lets you compare rates and delivery times across different carries before you print your label, so you can make the most cost-effective choice every time.

So this is what happens when you take a line image (or more likely an AI drawing) and print the reverse of it. The reason this image looks weird is because it's showing a lighter line when you should see a dark line. It's a mistake made by people who are beginners or don't know what they're doing /
