I finally have my own beef with Lin Manuel Miranda (after jealously watching on for so long) bc why is he in TWO adaptations from my childhood in the only roles I didn’t think should be recast? I don’t want you here Alexander Hamilton!!

Abolish private schools today! Sick to death of this country being dragged to the death by the 7% of people who attend them! Pls we can’t stay stuck in this class based hell forever!

Not related to ANYTHING: but a posh, white, English woman will never be able to offer anything interesting to me bc I have met every single variation of that woman and I find her terribly dull in every single one!

Not the independent calling Wuthering heights a “limp mills and boons” and giving it one star 😭 I know it’s bad bc the only good reviews are “it’s so visually stunning” and for a story this dense that’s really saying something 😂😂😂

omg, the “all she talks about is high school” people too - have you guys considered high school might be a metaphor??? maybe she’s trying to contextualize a relatively unique experience (being in the music industry) in a way that almost everyone can grasp (being in high school)!

exactly! that would require people to engage with the text instead of just consuming it - and critical engagement is very much a dying art

161

El ✨ @alreadyinmyroom.bsky.social · 11/02/2026

Actually I think this shows a real lack of ability to critically engage with art! Doesn’t anyone have the ability to just talk about the themes and imagery in art anymore? The wider societal context is important but only when contextualising everything else!!

Yeah so forgot I saw this, this morning! Idk if this bodes well for her future but I really hope she’s doing well and will get to enjoy this money that she earned!

080

El ✨ @alreadyinmyroom.bsky.social · 11/02/2026

Idk why I’ve just noticed today but people are so weird and parasocial when talking about music now! No one is talking about the art without the pop culture context and it’s so tired, if we’re critiquing art okay, but then I don’t want to hear about why it’s bad bc of five pop culture moments

Not saying I know better than the people who own record companies but the reason they’ve shelved Halsey is they don’t realise they are the blueprint for pop music rn! Like you don’t make money from them changing the game you make it from being ahead of the game with mini halseys on your label!

I think it’s really important that now more than ever you look for yourself at the things people are critiquing others for bc some of you are defending something you CLEARLY have not read and I think that’s a waste of everyone’s time! ✌🏽
