Stanislaw Wyspiański (1869-1907)
was a Polish playwright, painter, poet, and interior and furniture designer. A patriotic writer, he created symbolic national dramas accordant with the artistic group of the Young Poland movement.

Irises features strong elements of Expressionism and Polish Symbolism ~ Art Nouveau.
The expressive pastel strokes emphasise the vibrant floral forms and rich color harmonies characteristic of the Artist . The pastel medium allowed Wyspiański to capture soft, glowing colors where petals and stems become expressive shapes . Irises is one of his most powerful and emotionally charged botanical pastel works. While it functions on the surface as an Art Nouveau floral study, it carries a deep undercurrent of personal symbolism.
Wyspiański’s flower pastels are vibrant, expressive, and deeply symbolic botanical studies that blend organic rhythm with the delicate, luminous qualities of the pastel medium. His Expressive Pastel Portraits captured the raw psychological depth and intimate moments of his family, children, and self-portraits.
Wyspianski left a profound legacy as the father of modern Polish drama and a visionary genius of the Young Poland movement who united theater, visual arts, and national identity.
His The Wedding (Wesele) is his groundbreaking 1901 symbolic drama that explored social class divisions and the painful quest for Polish independence.
He transformed Polish stagecraft by blending architecture, music, and poetry into a unified spiritual and cultural experience.
He created Stained Glass in Kraków , which showcases his mastery of Art Nouveau design, highlighted by the striking visual panel "God in the Act of Creation".
