widely relied-upon undocumented behaviour * Coordinate release timing with downstream distributions, registries, and redistributors **You’ll also** * Participate in the on-call rotation for incidents at downstream production deployments * Support enterprise consumers where project issues block business-critical systems * Define and communicate support, deprecation, and end-of-life policies for all release lines * Provide migration guidance to adopters upgrading from end-of-life releases * Coordinate advisories, CVE records, disclosure timelines, and researcher credits * Ship embargoed CVE patches across all supported version lines within the disclosure window * Produce SBOMs, VEX statements, and signed provenance attestations for every release * Maintain reproducible builds and independently verifiable release artifacts * Complete supplier security assessments and questionnaires for enterprise consumers * Remediate findings from OpenSSF Scorecard, dependency scanners, and compliance platforms **As well as** * Review high volumes of contributions from AI coding agents and automated refactoring tools * Triage vulnerability reports generated by commercial AI security Grant writing and nonprofit financial reporting experience * Media training * An established personal audience on at least one major social platform * Conversational proficiency in a second and third language * A second job **What we offer** * 100% remote, work from anywhere in the world * Complete flexibility over your working hours * High-impact work depended on by startups and Fortune 500 companies alike * Exceptional visibility and personal brand building opportunities * Regular speaking slots at leading industry events * The opportunity to develop close working relationships with several national CERTs * A passionate, highly engaged global user community * GitHub Sponsors enabled on the repository **How to apply** Please submit a CV, a link to your GitHub profile, and a short cover letter telling us what ownership means to you. Our interview process consists of a recruiter screen, a technical interview, a system design round, a take-home exercise, and a final community panel. If you don’t meet every requirement listed above, we’d still encourage you to apply. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive community and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. This position will remain open until filled. I just had a deeply alarming 45 minute sync with our Talent Acquisition team regarding their new Al-driven resume screening tool.
They reported that the software's reduced our time-to-hire by 60% over the last month.
I asked them to walk me through the specific algorithmic parameters they established for filtering out unqualified applicants.
The HR manager smiled and said they just told the Al to optimize for digital natives with high runway potential and a youthful energy.
I stopped typing and asked her to run a demographic report on every single candidate the software's rejected since September.
The data showed a 100% rejection rate for any applicant who graduated college before the year 2010.
I explained that automating age discrimination doesn't make it suddenly legal, it just makes it highly scalable and incredibly easy to prove in court.
She seemed genuinely confused and argued that the Al made the decision, not her, so we're insulated from liability.
I had to explain that the EEOC doesn't currently accept the robot defense for federal civil rights violations.
I'm currently drafting a memo to halt all hiring until we manually review 4,000 resumes.

GitHub Actions charging per build minute for *self-hosted-runners*? Shit's about to hit the fan lol
You are receiving this email because your usage of GitHub Actions may be impacted by upcoming changes to GitHub Actions pricing.

What’s changing, when

On January 1, 2026, all customers will receive up to a 39% reduction in the net price of GitHub-hosted runners, depending on the machine type used.
On March 1, 2026, we are introducing a new $0.002 per-minute GitHub Actions cloud platform charge that will apply to self-hosted runner usage. Any usage subject to this charge will count toward the minutes included in your plan.
No action is required on your part.
