I met this person in a bar and they just said “you need to read 1q84” so I downloaded it then and there . I’ve read most of his stuff since. In the other hand, I need to read more Russian stuff other than “master and margarita “ and crime and punishment

I need to read books like this on my kindle so I can’t see how frickin’ enormous they are. Not sure I could have done 1Q84 with a real book ☹️

Not pretty, but delicious. My girlfriend is now one of the few French people to eat a jalapeno popper 😮 (she liked it)

If you see this, post a vampire that isn’t Dracula. You *really* need to watch the whole video. It’s… something youtu.be/Eqk4pWnVN5w?...

My general rule is that I only buy/wear shirts of bands I’ve seen live. If you pinky swear you’re never performing live, I’ll pick one up. The shirt looks cool, the logo is unreadable all good things

Yeah, that coincides with their steady decline

almostEric @almosteric.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

You’re doing it wrong 🤷‍♂️

When did bono start always wearing blue sunglasses 🤔

almostEric @almosteric.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

I think they peaked at Unforgettable Fire, but I’m old 🤷‍♂️

Just looked them up. Yikes. Easy block

As a guitarist who also used to be in a band with a drummer with a huge kit that needed help loading, setting up, etc. I realize that sacrifices are necessary 🤣

almostEric @almosteric.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

My hot take. I don’t trust metal drummers with 4 piece kits. I want the double bass drums, 8+ toms, octobons and so many cymbals (especially splashes) that the only way I know the drummer is there is when they throw a stick at the crowd #metalsky

Not claiming any Uber hipness, but u2 started losing me at the Joshua tree. Not sure why. I was never a huge fan but thought unforgettable fire and earlier was great. But JT , um ok. But then Achtung baby just lost me 🤷‍♂️

Sure!! Any particular era? The 80s had Indochine and Telephone. My gf has been slowly exposing me to the old stuff…

I’m just curious, when you say #1 song , by what metric? Let’s go with streams. If 30 people are listening to your #1 artist, but 15 are listening to artist B and not #1, 15 are listening to C, not #1 and 15 are listing to D, not #1, there are more people not listening to #1, even with 2x b,c or d

Not a LF fan at all, but watching Nene Royal crush it with them on America’s Got Talent was awesome. She deserves to be huge

almostEric @almosteric.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Not sure I’d agree with this. I just think that competently playing an instrument is orthogonal to song writing ability . Yngwie - great guitarist, can’t write song to save his life Cobain - average at best guitarist, knew how to write songs

First album has trumpets, but he makes it work. I remember for the second one he showed us this weird grid system for coming up with the chord progressions. His comment was “I hope it’s fucking unlistenable “ 🤣 (it’s not)

Don’s a great guy. Have you heard his side project Sculptured?

My French girlfriend introduced me to Les Rita Mitsouko. As a child of the 80s music I wish I could have experienced them live. Amazing band. Catherine Ringer, the other half, was taken way too soon by cancer as well. 😡 youtu.be/1zWlnzFXcKY?... #musicsky

I don’t normally post pictures of meals, but today was a nice tag team effort between me and Pascale. I cooked the meat, made the sauce and she handled veggies Pork loin with a plum reduction/habanero sauce Merguez (French-Algerian sausage ) Carrots Vichy Ratatouille à la pascale #cookingsky

It’s some Linux based thing but aggressively prevents sideloading so it’s hard to debug with. Looks like another solution to a nonexistent problem

(FireOS is just a fork of Android )

100

almostEric @almosteric.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Ugh, just as I get my app running well on Amazon’s FireOS, they decide to introduce completely incompatible VegaOS. Looks like they are making it intentionally hard to target with anything other than React 😡. Is there even a chance MAUI could eventually be able to target this? .NET 14? 🤣

I’ve tried so hard to do normal black metal,… and normal death metal. I’ve learned my lesson, I don’t do normal

Weird, I have non-binary friend here in France who’s as left wing as they come and they love NoS (me um 🤷‍♂️) not sure if they have a blind spot or maybe missed something

So sorry, I think there is an idea where you take years of relationship and turn that into weeks where you just resign to yourself that things are gonna suck while you process . The good news is that there is an other side . Stay strong. It’ll get better

So I saw Allegaeon last Friday here in France and I wore my wayfarer T-shirt because I could have sworn they were the opening band last time I saw them (I follow the don’t wear band shirts to the band you’re seeing code) I’m an asshole, I saw wayfarer on different tour and confused Ezra . Sorry
