I see it like any other Gartner Hype Cycle. LLMs, google, the internet, television, radio, etc., something gets a huge amount of hype, will be the solution to everything, crashes, then finds its place. Took me years (and @alyankovic.bsky.social) to get over my hatred of autotune:

There is such a vast difference between how I expand my circle here as opposed to any site with an algorithm. Here, people I know, like, and/or trust share things that resonate with them, and I’ll expand or contract on my own terms. There, the algo floods me with posts it thinks I might like.

A difficulty I’m running into with hosting karaoke is that I don’t have a good feminine voice to aim for. What I do now is basically a radio DJ voice, keeping people notified of the list, the occasional advert for the bar, etc.. But all the DJs I’ve heard over the years are men🤦‍♀️. Any recommends?

How can I survive days of not accomplishing anything? I can -feel- the depression weighing on me like a piano atop me. What did I do? Did I not take enough pain meds? Did I not set enough goals and accomplish them? Did I pass off others concern as unimportant? Going to sleep, at least. 😔

With tomorrow being my second life surgery, it seems like I approach it the same way I do dying; with a lot of deliberateness and planning. House is clean, kids are away for a week, larder ready, work squared away. I ent out for a good, sit down meal and now I’m settling into bed. Life is good 🤷‍♀️
