iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Christ, social media is both useless and abhorrent when a serious incident occurs. As always, the rule of “99% of people should think before posting, and not post,” applies but is never followed. And we’re supposed* to rely on this shitshow for news? Don’t make me laugh. *So I’m told…

As always, torn between wishing people would just NOT post all their inanities, and enjoying when people choose to reveal their idiocy right out here in the open. (FWIW, empty values and a complete lack of empathy would disqualify you from any position I was hiring for.)

Because the upper echelons of American tech are filled with people who want all the attention, all the time. They don’t believe half of what they say, but they sure do appreciate the attention it gets them.

Brighton thumping Arsenal still trending this morning. Bluesky will never get over this.

Screenshot of Firefox on my iPad, showing the date / time, and also that Brighton thumping Arsenal is still top 5 trending on Bluesky right now. (For me, anyway, not sure if the ‘trending’ part of this website is algorithmic or not, presumably it is.)

This is the nub of the matter. Trump doesn’t want memorials to anyone but himself. And he will change or tear down any that exist.

I truly, deeply, sincerely do think the guy flipping burgers at McDonalds should be able to afford rent, bills, and groceries with his paycheck alone. That's kind of the whole point of having a job and I can't believe this is considered a radical position.🤷🏽‍♀️

#RRD BlueSky Royal Rumble Draft Some epic battles this week with 2 fixtures separated by only 1 point and another by 2 points. The table remains tight with 4 teams on 9 points and 3 teams on 6 points. Bizarrely, the teams in 8th & 9th have scored the most points overall.

#FPL I genuinely think Rogers is a better pick than Palmer. I keep hearing / reading people big-up Palmer over Rogers. Pens are part of it. Palmer will take ~3 pens in the EPL this year. xGI over the 1st 4 games is comparable. I’ve also heard Palmer referenced as an alternate cap to Halaand, but

I read this article back in June; it’s worth reading again. I dunno, people are complex, man. I get that. Still: if this is how they treat you to your face, what do you think they say behind your back? How can you even consider aligning with people who hate you because of ‘conservative values’…?

#FPL feels like there’s more variation in strategy this week. I see lots of FHs, some WCs, Palmer is a popular cap, even triple cap. I’m hoping that being patient and sticking with my team / plan is the right play overall, but can’t help being nervous with so many chips in play. Let’s see.

My #FPL team for GW4. Double Arsenal. Single Liverpool. Single Chelsea. Haaland. Bruno. Maguire likely to come in for Dedic. Doesn’t feel optimal for this GW, but who knows? Maybe DCL can bang a hat trick.
