I’m filled with gratitude for leaders in the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office. Former Sheriff (now Commissioner) Mike Roberson handing the baton to new Sheriff Steve Maynor last night at Sheriff Maynor’s swearing in. So much joy and appreciation in that packed auditorium!

What an absolute delight to administer the oath of office to Devin Duncan - the UNC Chapel Hill student body president- as a member of the school’s Board of Trustees! He’s such an impressive young man. And I got to meet his mom, who was just lovely. The future is bright!

Thanks to all the North Carolinians who wrote in with their questions for our Ask Allison series. I’m glad to take a few minutes to share some recent important rulings from our Court that impact you and why the upcoming election is so important.

Freedom isn't free, and I believe that the price of continuing freedom is learning our history. Word of the Emancipation Proclamation took years to reach Black Americans in Galveston, TX -- Juneteenth reminds us that freedom hasn't arrived at the same time for everyone, and the work continues.

The NC NAACP hosted a lovely WIN (Women in the NAACP) brunch in Fayetteville on Saturday! It was inspiring to hear from so many incredible women leaders, including former Secretary Sanders and national NAACP Board member Karen Boykin-Towns.

Remember and honor. It’s about acting every day to honor their service and sacrifice, and working tirelessly to be a country worthy of them. My grandfathers, Paul Riggs (WWII) and Robert Gunther (Korean War) #memorialday

1 year ago today, my 2024 win was finally certified & I took my oath of office. I continue to be filled with gratitude for all the people who stood arm-in-arm with me as we fought for every lawful ballot to be counted. Back then, today, and in the fights ahead, I will always fight for all NCians.

Speaking at the NewDEAL Forum in Raleigh, I talked about the weight of this moment for the state judiciary. Upholding the rule of law and ensuring equal justice—especially under pressure—is essential to a strong democracy. And that responsibility belongs to all of us in public service.

Had the best St. Patrick’s Day with LWV of Moore County - the community in that room was priceless! Women helping their friends, neighbors and fellow North Carolinians to have their voices heard. The League is a trusted messenger of good information about elections, and that matters so much!

Voting is a fundamental right in this county - make sure you exercise it during this primary election. Primary day is 3/3, but early voting continues through tomorrow. I made my voice heard today! Thanks to the Chatham County Board of Elections for how smoothly run their EV sites are! #ncpol

I’m so relieved that Justice Earls has gotten the medical care she needs to recover fully. No one is more committed than Justice Earls to serving the people of North Carolina. She & I remain clear-eyed about taking back the courts for justice, & the next step is re-electing her in 2026.

Last month, I got to attend both the district court judges and superior court judges fall conferences. As a unified judicial system, it’s important that members of the Supreme Court understand the challenges facing our district and superior court judges. I promise to always be listening & learning!

Yesterday was a big day at my house. It marked 10 years since I rescued my dog Goose (and what we call his 11th birthday). He was so sick in February that I wasn’t sure we’d make it to that anniversary. But he bounced back! Cheers to a decade with the best furry friend! ❤️🐶🐾 #internationaldogday

“Thank you for fighting!” I’ve spent the last few days with incredibly energized organizers, from @netrootsnation.bsky.social in New Orleans to the @downhomenc.bsky.social convention in Raleigh. And this was the most common refrain I heard. It was never an option for me to do anything less.
