And not just when but also how. Chillies to India are relatively easy, they're easy to stow in early modern cargo ships, but pigs to Polynesia would be a bit trickier in catamarans or whatever vessels they had 4000 years ago. I think they must have put piglets in sacks.

This would be a great little zooarch/archaeobotany outreach project. I still find it difficult to imagine a time when Indian cuisine didn't have chillies.

So sorry you can't make it. Yes, a great line up - I'm especially looking forward to seeing Myrath and Battle Born.

This reminded me of the difference between The Cat dancing in the Red Dwarf episode "Parallel Universe", and his considerably less sophisticated Dog alter ego.
Danny John Jules as the very cool cat in Red Dwarf. He is dancing and wearing a salmon pink suit.

This BBC story about EVs and car sickness includes a quote from an American doctor. "'I've heard about it many, many, many times,' he adds, saying about two patients a month specifically reference feeling motion sick in electric vehicles." Many, many, many. Two a month.

Reminds me of Nandor the Relentless shopping for crepe paper.

The tree planting provides evidence that Something is Being Done. Statements made, money allocated, contracts signed, boxes ticked. Simply letting nature regenerate is much harder to quantify, despite it being more successful.

At some point soon I will have finished recording this box of bone and will need to replace the lid. This will not be a popular move.

A while ago my son in law did an AI search on my name for me. The amount of information assembled was pretty disturbing and included several inaccuracies. It also produced a photo of a very blokey chap with an impressive beard. Guess that was inevitable, given that key words included 'archaeology'.

Hi, Brit here. Just spent a happy few minutes scrolling through all your super photos! Great memories of the cars my dad used to have, and days out watching sports car racing in the late 70s. Lovely cats too.

It certainly gives a different perspective, and I like that it's based on real data. I'm going to start looking for a nice little 5k race to work towards. It's good to have a goal to focus on.

My Evri parcel, a birthday gift from my aunt, was a week late. It turned up eventually - it had been opened and everything of value removed, and then roughly taped up again. There was literally no way to report the lateness or theft on the website, and no contact number. My poor aunt was so upset.

With no phone and my elderly Garmin on strike, I had to wait till I got home to find I'd done a sub-41 minutes parkrun! I've accepted that I'll probably never do a sub-30 again, but I'm beginning to feel that things are definitely improving! Photo: Worcester Woods parkrun #runningpunks

Great to add a mountaineering badger to our garden species list. The hillside is very steep and rocky! The footage is not TV nature programme standard but I'm chuffed to bits.

The extraordinary 3,000 year-old ‘Berlin Gold Hat’! One of four known cone-shaped golden ‘hats’ from ancient Europe. Sheet gold decorated with bands of solar and lunar motifs, which may represent calendars according to latest research. Neues Museum, Berlin 📷 by me #Archaeology
My photo shows a very tall, slender, conical gold object known as the Berlin Gold Hat, displayed against a dark museum background. At the top end, the tall slender cone narrows to a pointy tip.
At the bottom it widens into a rounded base with a broad flat brim. It is made of very thin hammered sheet gold, the entire surface of which is embossed with horizontal bands of decoration. Repeated motifs of concentric circles, disks, ovals, and other symbols, are thought to represent the sun and moon. According to latest research this may represent solar and lunar calendars. It is dated to the late Bronze Age, c. 1000-800 BC. It is 74 cm tall and weighs 480 gms. On display at Neues Museum, Berlin. It is one of only four known golden ‘hats’ from ancient Europe. Three from Germany and one from France.
