The owns these people come up with. The man used to be a fucking Democrat. It just shows off what a grifter he is. 😩 (Same folks who think any of us care if Bill gets arrested with all the other pedos in the Epstein files. Go for it!)

I mean… there were a huge number of stories in 2024 about the percentage of their income, millennials were spending on their housing. But, as I said, I’m done talking about this for today.

Okay. Maybe I'm making some mistakes on economics, but I don't know where TF you're finding "1960s style houses" for $150k. And as for other things Millennials are spending money on—I can't find a more recent statistic, but one 2024 study found we're spending an avg of 60% of our income on housing.

What a horrifying idea! Some MAGA asshole grandparent forcing their no-contact child to subject a queer grandkid to sit there and be shamed or deadnamed. Or a toxic grandparent using a grandkid as a bargaining chip to manipulate their child, just like a shit parent in a custody case. 😱

Cost of living and value of a dollar are two different. The cost of housing is the biggest difference—it has WAY outpaced inflation. Education—many Millennials are still paying on student loans, 20 years on. I also wonder what the median is. There’s massive income inequality among us.

I’d love to try induction, but I HATE cooking on electric. It’s impossible to control the heat while you’re cooking. We’ve thought about buying an induction hot plate just to try it out for when we need to replace our stove. And we always run the vent fan when we’re cooking.

It *is* a weird sort of place—gratitude for what my parents *have* given me and grief for what other parents gave their kids that mine didn’t. Being generation in on what’s bound to be a multi-generational project of healing intergenerational trauma.

My parents caused a lot of psychological harm, but are also materially well-off and generous. Also very much the “not until it affects someone I care about” kind of Republicans who, say, did an instant 180 on mental healthcare when I was hospitalized for PPD.

Our family policy on spending money for costumes is that almost everything has to be re-wearable. Last year, we were characters from The Princess Bride. 11yo picked up some brown pants and a vest. Dad got Fezzik PJ pants. Only 1-off buys were a black mask, black gloves, and a wig.

If 1981 is millennial, I’m NOT an elder millennial anymore. Wasn’t it on the fives for a super long time? 45-64: Boomer 65-84: GenX 85-?: Millennial? *I think the problem may be the number of damn micro-generations for Millennial because of tech development?
011
Alison Fincher @alisonfincher.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
I have never used “elder millennial” to refer to myself as “kinda old”. 😅 Seriously… what I’ve noticed shifting is the damn generational boundaries. 1985 was a solid lower boundary for a long time—who TF born much before then thinks about themselves as a Millennial?
