I don’t know who needs to hear this, but you’re not obligated to justify your choice of music, books, television, or films to anyone.

Just one of my new treasures from a late friend and neighbor’s estate sale this weekend. Thanks for that beautiful brunch on your balcony, AS! ❤️

The brilliance of Agatha Christie is that there’s always so much more stuff going on to the point where the murder effectively becomes an afterthought

All I want is a cottage in the Scottish Highlands, an Agatha Christie novel, a pouring rain, a crackling fire, a kettle on the stove, a raven keeping watch, and a basket of emotional support scones,

At the Clark Art Institute, Williamstown, MA. A Sèvres porcelain coffee cup and saucer from the Catherine the Great service. Circa 1778. The service was so expensive she delayed paying the invoices.

The Empress loved cameos, so the service was decorated with…
cameos.

I keep thinking about how people are going THROUGH IT. Everyone. It’s so important to have compassion for ourselves AND — crucially — each other.

Strong finale, #GrantchesterPBS. I thought we lost Geordie twice. Meg felt tacked on and I am glad it wasn’t a wedding to end it. I guess Jack’s daughter from his young love and her child are a dropped thread? All in all, a very well done show that wrapped well and I will miss.

I cannot stand Brooke on B&B but there wasn’t a single man on the show that they paired her w/ that I didn’t think she could pull. Treating Big Blonde like she has that same range is insanity! #GH

My package of photos from a UK dealer was waiting at the desk when I went to pick up the tikka masala for dinner. Move-in began after dinner.

Framed original photo of three young women, 1910s.

Recalled a supermodel’s onetime Frappuccinos and cigarettes diet with “Tilly.” Glad Jean emerged and ditched the manager. “You had a choice.” Ouch. Geordie did indeed and he has to live with all he missed. “You are on your own.” All Alphy had known before #GrantchesterPBS.

One of my favorite places in Paris, the Musée Jacquemart-André. Photos from my last visit there not long ago. The furniture is a bit jammed in but I'm not complaining, lots of 18th century pieces and a Winterhalter or two.

I guess it was inevitable Alphy would spiral a bit like his predecessors. Especially when it feels like everyone is moving on. Nicholas Ralph was truly scary. Larry and Jenn were the sweetest. Hope Meg remains an ex. The ending doesn’t need to be in a bow. #GrantchesterPBS

I decided to check Google Lens today. The UK eBay dealer I purchased my portrait from was in Cheltenham, less than an hour from the lady in Richard Buckner’s 1847 portrait’s home, Charlecote Park, Warwickshire.

Great episode, #GrantchesterPBS. Know when to stop chasing a fantasy. Some birth parents really do just close the door and go on. Never will say anything voluntarily. The applause for Larry’s promotion as the pregnancy was confirmed to Jenn over the phone was a nice moment.

Tracking down one’s birth parent can result in answers that were not as you imagined. A father with no last name, a terrified teen mother who endured childbirth alone and found the closest safe spot. I feel for both. #GrantchesterPBS

A Sèvres-style gilt porcelain coffee cup and saucer with painted floral decoration between gilt bands along the upper perimeter of both, and with gilt stars, dots and leaves in rows beneath. Made at the Comte d'Artois factory, circa 1800. The flower decoration is nice though a little intense.
