Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 18/12/2025Yes, so true! I might have said it before, but his books are like medicine for the soul 🥰 000
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 18/12/2025It was good, I enjoyed it, and it had those same themes of justice and importance of friendships and people getting what they deserve. It was also different & I couldn't help but think that the things Fern was struggling with were personal to the author. Have you read it? 2/2 000
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 18/12/2025Travis Baldree's books always find me when I feel fragile and need the safety & warmth of a hug. Recently, I read Brigands and Breadknives — 3d book from the Legends & Lattes series. 1/2 💙📚 #booksky #fantasy #books #reading 210
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 26/11/2025I am, but I'm afraid I have so little time now, that I might not be able to read and review it on time 😔 Perhaps it's better if I just buy it when it's out and read it in my own time, so I can support you 🧡 110
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 14/11/2025Exciting! Please let me know when it's out ☺️ 110
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 13/11/2025Hi, Laken, I miss you too, I just spend very little time on social media now 🧡 I'm good, currently working on learning about narrative design (for video games) and writing my own tiny games while looking for jobs and collaboration opportunities in the industry. How are you? 120
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 12/11/2025This is such a good book! I read it a while ago and loved it 🥰 💙📚 #books #reading #fantasy #booksy #ReadingCommunity 140

Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 26/10/2025I fell off the face of the earth again (not really, just the social media plane 😁). In the meantime, I wrote my second tiny #Twine #solarpunk interactive fiction game. Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 29/06/2025Until I came up with this simple conflict resolution game, and I'm so excited because I just finished the first draft of level one! It's short & simple, and I'm sure there is lots I did wrong, but I actually finished this thing, and I think it's a reason to celebrate 😊 🎉 #GameWriting #twine 010
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 29/06/2025I've been learning about game writing and figuring out Twine. Made a few short scenes in it but couldn't conceptualize anything more complete I could actually finish. 100

Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 23/06/2025The Free People's Village is a badass story about music, love & resistance. Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 18/05/2025I'm reading it right now and enjoying it a lot! Ingrey is a great character 🥰 010
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 14/05/2025Aww thank you so much for the recommendation ☺️☺️🧡 010
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 14/05/2025I’m sure they will be useful ☺️ In the meantime, I finally started writing a review of This is How Immortals Die ☺️ 110
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 14/05/2025Amazing how much of a difference starting a day with a workout & a cold shower makes (not that it’s possible for me most days 😅). Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 08/05/2025And then I remembered about Lois McMaster Bujold. I read the whole Vorkosigan Saga a while ago, but nothing by her since. So I started the Chalion series. Currently on book 2, and enjoying it ☺️💙📚 What are you reading? #reading #fantasy 220
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 08/05/2025Pretty short (novella length), characters that are mere symbols without depth, struggles that are overcome within one sentence of description. Pretty interesting but not my cup of tea, so I won’t be continuing the series. 2/ 120
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 08/05/2025How do people keep up with social media? Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 17/04/2025If you have anything to share, please do. I prefer sci-fi and fantasy, but don't limit yourself to those. Hugs to all 🧡 /end 010
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 17/04/2025A story that heals without making you bleed first. Like a warm blanket that you wrap around yourself to hide from the cold reality. I think that sometimes, we all need those safe stories. So, why are there so few? Or maybe I just don't know them. Do you? 7/ 110
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 17/04/2025And yet, I feel like these kinds of narratives are way more prevalent, even expected. As an author, I tell those stories myself. But the popularity of kind, peaceful books makes me think that a lot of people are hungry for a story that doesn't hurt. 6/ 110
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 17/04/2025Of course, tragic, painful narratives are necessary. Showing the dangers of the world as it is, allowing people to see themselves in the suffering of those characters, to feel understood. It can be healing and powerful. 5/ 110
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 17/04/2025I loved The Free People's Village, but the narrative was tragic, and hope quite feeble. Some parts hurt reading about. Some felt personal. It left me feeling bruised, if that makes sense. 4/ 110
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 17/04/2025I never knew I needed such books before I found them by chance. I used to love dystopias, and didn't mind any amount of violence as long as it made sense for the story. But lately, I increasingly find myself searching for hope and kindness in the books I read. 3/ 130
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 17/04/2025Someone else said "a warm hug of a book", which is absolutely on-point. In the sci-fi realm, Becky Chambers comes to mind. But overall, I don't think there are too many of them out there, at least not that I know of. 2/ 120
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 17/04/2025I finished Legends & Lattes, and quite predictably, I loved it 🥰 Already started book 2. It got me thinking about the specific niche this book occupies: calm, kind, feel-good stories where good things happen to good people. I call them balm for the soul. 1/ 330

Reposted by Alina LeonovaLaken Honeycutt @mycelialwriter.bsky.social · 08/04/2025Is there anything in this existence that compares to a good book? In the mess that is everything right now, I would be completely lost without 📚✨ Here's a few books on my TBR:🧵 151
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 11/04/2025But since it’s in character & makes sense for young activists & generally who these characters are as people, plus the issues were pretty interesting for me to read about, I didn’t mind. Some things hurt to read about mirroring my own experiences with activism. Anyway, check it out 🔥 010
Alina Leonova @alinaleonova.bsky.social · 11/04/2025The book is strongly anti-capitalist and anti-colonial with an emphasis on community, activism and direct action. Lots of LGBTQ+ characters. Might come off as preachy as characters discuss political issues, racial injustices, etc., especially one character educating others. 2/ 110
