Today has been a long and busy work day. But not as busy as the evening busier day tomorrow, which I am nearly prepared for. Kind of. #OscillatingOctober #Day15 Autumn term. No matter how busy it always feels in the summer, it’s nothing compared to the actual fullness of autumn.

Today I’m thinking about how interesting it is that my job involves having a certain amount of experience in using a lot of different databases and techniques, developing my skills and inspiring others to make use of these things #OscillatingOctober #Day14 Plus a lot of other things.

Today something was sorted in the nick of time, after lots of worry over the last week or so. Just in the nick of time, ready for tomorrow. It’s been such a relief to has this sorted.

Today I had to make a list of the days and times over the next couple of weeks when all four of us are free for something, and realised that these occasions are few and far between. As my children get older their lives get busier! #OscillatingOctober #Day12

Today is one of those days where all the wonderful things that past Alice say I would do around now are coming back to bite me. As I try to plan the wonderful things while also dealing with the constant chaos of other things occurring. I can’t keep up!

Today I have spent silly amount of time exploring council sub-committee meeting minutes from decades ago. And getting frustrated at some things being there when googling but seemingly not indexed in a way I can see them all. It’s been fun! #OscillatingOctober #Day11

Today I went out with friends to an exhibition and to catch up in the pub. It is nice to have activities arranged in advance to force me to do things #OscillatingOctober #Day10

Today has been a day of many things, home and work. Positives and stressful. It has concluded with champagne (which has sad waiting for months for the right day for it) - so generally positive! #OscillatingOctober #Day9

This evening I’ve been explaining to my teenage daughter teaching I am planning for next week, on academic/non-academic sources, evaluating them & accessing them. And she’s been testing this & other things I bring in, critiquing & hugely improving what I’m trying to create. #OscillatingOctober #Day8

Today I sad down for a while after doing a half hour bit in a module (one of my favourites to do once I get into preparing) and had multiple people stop for a chat. It is good to be out and about - will do it more often, if I can find the time… #OscillatingOctober #Day7

Today I spent time updating slides for a class that no-one turned up to. I’m still glad to have done this update done (well, kind of), to be ready for another time - later in the time when hopefully more people have had a chance to realise how useful it would be #OscillatingOctober #Day6

Very frustrating. I had a tech failure lecture today too. Computer would not restart, then would not let me login (it wasn’t just that computer). There’s only so long I can chat away when I really need to be showing examples and getting students’ input on them.

I can manage to get things when I really don’t want them anymore (am making the decision today to offer two big boxes of childhood comics - Buntys and M+Js) on a local group, hoping that someone will want them. The issue is that I want or need to keep a lot of things!

Today I sorted out a drawer and got rid of half the stuff in it. Then started going through a box file, initially planning to do similar, then realised there’s a reason why I’ve kept these things. So I will be filling up the drawer again. But hopefully lose the box file #OscillatingOctober #Day3

Unfortunately one of us got too tired so we’ve only managed one episode of Traitors and Uncloaked tonight. More to look forward to. For once it wasn’t me who fell asleep, though I fell asleep in the thing we watch instead of a second episode, so I probably would have done…

Why is it that Outlook thinks that when I’m scrolling up my inbox to find emails from a few days ago, I must want to go to the top of my inbox to see the emails from a year ago?!
