Your boy is officially award winning 🎉🥳🏆 PDG awards Health and Social Care Speaker of the year 2026- awarded for a session I co-delivered with my friend and colleague from NHSE. To say it was a shock is an understatement - nearly fell off my chair!

Lazy Saturday after a bizarre week. In the last 7 days I finished a half marathon in a respectable time, sat in on a meeting with some healthcare stars, behind the most photographed door in the country and managed to have a v brief audience with the real power at the heart of Govt #WeekendMubarak

Been a while Bluesky. How we doing? I’ve spent the last 6 weeks gearing up For the London Big Half. Two weeks to go, longest run done today and the taper can begin! #NotARunner #ShinSplints #Ow

Who’s feeding the parties research that shows them that the only way to win power is by appeasing racists? For the Tories and Reform I get that this is part of their DNA but who on earth has convinced Labour?! Or is this the after effects of using a psychological weapon of war to win a referendum 🤔

Feel sorry for Lewis but team CL16 all day!

That’s amazing! I’m on the cusp of being prescribed hypertension medication. Not “conventionally” overweight but being of subcontinental stock, my BMI is in the danger zone…

Best of luck to the Scuderia for #LeMans24 - about this time every year for the last 3 years I’ve said I didn’t think they’d win it, and then they’d go on to prove me wrong, so I’ll just run it back- I don’t think the 499 will be up to it this year…. 😉🏎️👊🏽 #WEC

Dinner tonight is Coco Pops in ice cold milk, sat in the garden, as the sun sets on a roasting day. Had all three meals outside today, including a lovely BBQ late lunch. I think this is the sort of day my DNA is optimised for 😇☀️😎

I’ve come across 2/3 people who didn’t get the ickiness of this. They were enthused about using them in service of their blogging/social media aspirations (one for cooking the other for safely documenting his driving adventures) but like you it’s a firm no under any circumstances for me!

Leeds - London (Palace of Westminster, enough steps to almost hit a half marathon)- Bristol- London-back en route to Leeds. Knackered. Thank the Lord the Lizzie line was working this afternoon otherwise I’d probably have hit another half marathon in steps!

This was me last week. I countered my default programming with an afternoon nap. Got quite used to it, but back to work this week and I am dreading my 4pm meetings….

Ali Aslam @aliaslam.bsky.social · 13/04/2026

That’ll do…That will definitely do! Maybe my doomed feeling pre kick off was a false alarm! Words cannot express the disdain I have for our opponents this evening- so to beat them in their own back yard feels exquisite! #ALAW #MOT

My tip for vagus nerve stimulation is immersing your face in a bucket of ice water. Start at 10/15 seconds and then build your endurance upwards towards 30-45 seconds. I did that during peak periods of stress (ironically during the last change programme🙃) and it felt like it really did help.

Ali Aslam @aliaslam.bsky.social · 31/03/2026

And to the actual point of me being here- the half marathon was an amazing experience, Ferrari really rolled the red carpet out for us all. The magic of the day was underlined by a PB which is always nice. Still not convinced I’m a runner but pleased to have survived!

Today was the turn of the Enzo Ferrari museum in Modena. Some achingly pretty metal including a 250 GTO, John Lennon’s 330, Miles Davis’ 275 GTB4, Jay Kay’s La Ferrari and Pavarotti’s F40. Also amazing to see an ex Schumacher championship winning F2003-GA

Also Grazie Mille to the blue side of Modena for allowing me in to the no entry section to grab a family reunion pic and for the copious amounts of espresso, on the house, naturally 🤌🏽🥰🤩

Safely completed an epic road trip from Leeds to Modena for the Enzo Ferrari half marathon on Sunday. 1000 miles in 31ish hours. The views around Mont Blanc and the other side of the border in Italy were stunning. Driving an Italian sports car in Italy is an epic experience 🤩🥰😍

One of these days I’ll be on the same train as you- just got off one from Leeds to Kings Cross 😅

And that’s the last suhoor of the month done.Been an interesting Ramadan this year. The tiredness has been on another level-it’s not helped that the entire house has been struck down by the lurgy these past few days.Still I’ll miss the quiet solitude of 4am, and the discipline we’ve all exercised…

Fred Again,The Streets,Kano and the Daft Punk duo minus helmets going back to back.On an aircraft carrier, with speakers strewn across the flight deck, heading down the straight. It would be such an epic sight that both sides would lay down their weapons and surrender to the music #GetLucky

How do you have time to watch tv with all the tv that you are making?! Ps now there are new episodes to recap, you should totally bring your podcast back ( #5678 etc etc )

When you need respite from despairing at the state of the world, what better distraction than some stunning Italian metal… Lovely morning at the cars and coffee event at my local dealership. Warming me up nicely for the end of the month, when I’ll be at the factory (to run a half marathon) 🏎️🥰👏🏽

At the halfway point of #Ramadan - the boss was meant to be on a plane to Pakistan via Qatar tomorrow but the ridiculousness in West Asia has put paid to that unfortunately 🤦🏽‍♂️ So we took her out for some scran- might not be the subcontinent but at least it’s well tasty 😋

110

Ali Aslam @aliaslam.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

No daily post this #Ramadan (mainly because I forgot🙃) but ten days in I will say a cuppa and a chocolate hob nob at 5am just before I close my fast is one of the great, underrated pleasures in this month ☺️

Speeding back up north after my last module on @thekingsfund.bsky.social advanced OD practitioner programme. Phenomenal 6 month learning experience. Looking forward to putting my learning into practice, or at least trying to… given the amount of change in the air- should make things interesting!

Because the focus of the politician’s attention is the donors, and not the voters. If the donors say it isn’t a problem, the politicians don’t recognise it as a one. The disconnect between what ordinary people view as important and what the political class prioritise appears to be growing by the day

Starting the week with 10k to continue preparation for the Enzo Ferrari Memorial Half marathon in Italy at the end of March. Managed my fastest 5k for a long time as well, despite the temperature being a tropical 2 degrees in Leeds today 🥶🏃🏽‍♂️🤌🏽

Sat in the motherland but brain still processing NHS news. Things are v bleak at the moment-yesterday’s “briefing” did little to lift the gloom. Still there’s a few more days of chai, gorgeous sunsets and time with the extended family to enjoy before we shift to the UAE for week 2! #WeekendMubarak

Seems poignant that today of all days I get confirmation of my entry- the marathon wasn’t a possibility unfortunately- even though the year will be ‘26, I will be doing 13 miles at the London big half. Raising funds once again for @medicalaidpal.bsky.social - link/running spam coming soon!

Rare day where I could see the impact of my efforts by the time 5pm rolled around. Learned a couple of things. 1- seats are much heavier than I realised and 2- you have to be a lot more flexible than I am if you want to do some spannering on a car! Before during and after images below 😎
