And to the actual point of me being here- the half marathon was an amazing experience, Ferrari really rolled the red carpet out for us all. The magic of the day was underlined by a PB which is always nice. Still not convinced I’m a runner but pleased to have survived!

Today was the turn of the Enzo Ferrari museum in Modena. Some achingly pretty metal including a 250 GTO, John Lennon’s 330, Miles Davis’ 275 GTB4, Jay Kay’s La Ferrari and Pavarotti’s F40. Also amazing to see an ex Schumacher championship winning F2003-GA

Safely completed an epic road trip from Leeds to Modena for the Enzo Ferrari half marathon on Sunday. 1000 miles in 31ish hours. The views around Mont Blanc and the other side of the border in Italy were stunning. Driving an Italian sports car in Italy is an epic experience 🤩🥰😍

Lovely start to a week away from the laptop. Went for a mooch around Cordoba- the cathedral has such an interesting history. A converted mosque that once inspired the great Alaama (Mohammed) Iqbal- so many signs of its former life are still evident. The tour continues onwards towards Seville today..

….and the Henley Business School Senior Leaders Apprenticeship Diploma for EDI leads is live! Took us a year of solid work to get this off the ground-really enjoyed delivering a session for the cohort at their starter workshop. The Greenlands campus is such a nice space. The drive home was fun!

Up at silly o clock to close my fast for the Day of Arafah. Millions of brothers and sisters will be arriving into the plain of Arafah outside Mecca as we speak to start their Hajj rites, as I did in 2012. Given the oppressive heat it will be a physical challenge as well as a spiritual one.

It’s not a V8 or in any way exciting to drive but the numbers the new car is putting up are incredible-1200 miles of mostly inner city driving and it’s averaged 60mpg. V impressive! Never thought a 1.5L, 3 cylinder hybrid with a CVT box would usurp a 4.7L Ferrari built V8- but it has! For now…

Late post but voluntarily went and ran today; #Parkrun plus a warm up and cool down. Said Buenas Dias to Don Marcelo beforehand. Horrible shin splints had me in agony about 1km in. I’m amazed I ran an entire marathon with no lower leg pain whatsoever but first run post marathon and I’m suffering 🤷🏽‍♂️

80th anniversary of #VEDay and I’m thinking about all the people who served. Which for me is personal. My grandfather (chap stood up) was a quartermaster in the (British) Royal Army Medical Corps. It’s a shame the service of those from the subcontinent isn’t recognised more widely in this country
