I'm unsure if this is helpful or not but women's gussets are getting even narrower. Like some sort of frontal thong.

I'm okay with ineffective CPR in TV and film, because it would be painful to perform proper compressions on the actors. What I'm not okay with is the total lack of attempt to perform CPR on characters who were awake and talking two seconds ago. Learn CPR in 15 mins: www.bhf.org.uk/how-you-can-...

As I approach middle age, I have observed that there are two available attitudes. 1. I am halfway to death, it's pointless to start anything new. 2. I am only halfway through life, I have time for at least as many things as I have already done.

I think it's weird how ubereats etc suggest tips based on order value. They should be based on time spent. 1 minute = 10p, or 1 minute = 20p if they're on a bike in the rain.

I'm honestly not against stopping you from ordering extra extra extra pickles, as the person who habitually kisses you on the mouth, but that's not the point. It's way slower and multinational companies have no place in ordinary marital disputes!!

January brand new purchases. I think I did okay considering it's month one but there's room for improvement. I broke our old lemon squeezer beyond practical repair, a lesson to be more careful with the things I already have. £29.99/£300.
6th Jan - notebook £2
7th Jan - gift for nephew £12
27th Jan - lemon squeezer £3.99
28th Jan - scales £12

Bad people can do good things, just like good people can sometimes do bad things. Good and evil is a spectrum like every other aspect of humanity. I do not defend any aspect of these allegations, but we are all complex individuals and none of us can ever truly guess another's motives.

On a more lighthearted note, an old family friend once 'corrected' her five-ish year old daughter with "Don't talk like that, you sound like you're from Heanor". 5yo: "... But I am from Heanor".

When my Dad first came to the UK, people would hear his South African accent and, because apparently they didn't have irony in 1980, discriminate against him on the assumption he must support apartheid. He and his brothers say they now have smack accents, as in "talk properly or I'll smack you".

Why £300 and not £0? Some items, e.g. socks and underwear, don't come onto the secondhand market often and I use them until the end of their lifespan anyway. Even when there's a thriving secondhand market, buying some items brand new, e.g. books and art, supports creators and small businesses.

For my new year's resolution, I've decided not to spend more than £300 on brand new items this year, except: a) consumables, e.g. food or medication, for obvious reasons b) items needed to repair something I already own c) comics purchased from the creator at @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social

You cropped out the best part!
A close up of the top of a Christmas tree in front of a row of bookshelves. The tree topper is a chimney with legs sticking out of the top, as though Santa has got stuck.

Not much room in our little flat for a Christmas tree, but that's never stopped us before!
An approximately 5ft real Christmas tree, decorated and with presents underneath, in between a row of bookshelves and a pink couch. Decorations include Santa riding a dinosaur, an octopus in a hat and scarf, an avocado, a purple letter K and an orange letter E. The tree topper is a chimney with legs sticking out the top, as Santa has got stuck. Another angle of the same Christmas tree. Decorations on this side include a pompom mouse (he has a bell inside), a dog in a Santa hat, and a beaded owl.

Picked up a nasty cold at @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social but luckily I also picked up all these cat comics to help me feel better. Clockwise from left: @karlckrumpholz.bsky.social, @limitbreakcomics.bsky.social, Rebecca K Jones, Sharp Txngue.
Four comics about cats and a bag of Cadbury chocolate buttons with a cat on it. The comics are called 'It's Oola Too!!', 'Meouch', 'Disco', and 'Midas and the Insatiable Appetite'.
