People like to dunk on Yann LeCun because he thinks LLM are a dead end but at least he's building the future he believes in. Meanwhile, Geoffrey Hinton is stuck in a doom loop of alarmist media appearances. If you feel strongly about AI safety, build it.

Since the weekend, we've heard from a handful of individuals claiming to defend humanity from AI’s existential risks. But how can it be humane to scare people with speculative catastrophes just so you can build support for your political agenda?

A ChatGPT prompt requires about 0.32 milliliters of water (five drops 💧) for direct server cooling, most of which is recycled. A burger 🍔: 2,500,000 mililiters. A person's lifetime usage of ChatGPT requires an order of magnitude less water than a burger.
