Was spraying the pumpkins after last night’s storm and this one decided to pop off the vine a little early when I lifted it. This pumpkin stays green, but I would have liked for the vine to have been fully brown. Gotta be more gentle.

It’s me. The weird dad who took his nearly-6-year-old to this movie and showed her the old cartoons leading up to it. In fact, she showed me a modern Mickey Mouse cartoon with the Evil Queen from Snow White that follows the same formula. It was awesome. Teach your kids media literacy.

The growth has stalled for several days, so I’m calling it on the mystery squash in this mold. The way it was hanging, gravity was not on my side, and the nose was not going to fill out. It’s early enough that I can try again on a more normally shaped pumpkin. Still pretty happy with this first try.

I’m buddies with a guy who used to build these projectors. There was some renewed investment in rebuilding them around the release of the Hateful Eight, but that was… 11 years ago. The guy is in hospice care now.
