Another example - Standards Committee, 28/2/23, resolved to contact police to discuss Cllr Mark Anderson's plan to commit electoral fraud. Which turned out to involve the entire BCP Tory group. Police declined to reopen the case, as the plot had been foiled. www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/2339707...

Interesting .... I suggested to BCP's Audit Committee 16/7/26 (in a SEXY VOICE)⬇️⬇️ that they contact the police to discuss FuturePlaces-related corruption; Cllr Joe Salmon even had a motion to that effect but it was timed out. MO was happy with the motion so long as it was debated in exempt session.

At BCP's Standards Committee, 16/1/24, I called for a mechanism whereby no-confidence motions could be brought against committee members for egregious, repeat or multiple counts of proven misconduct, such as bringing Council into disrepute (which this case appears to comprise). No word on it since

Particularly disgusting is the fact that Kinson councillor Duane Farr (Reform UK) made the request for this petition to be heard .... This councillor is in breach of the Code of Conduct, in breach of his declaration of office and has failed to comply with sanctions for previous misconduct

Politicians now jumping on the bandwagon including Tom Hayes MP, Joanne Keeling (deputy chair of the Bournemouth West Conservative Association, who routinely presents as a "concerned resident"), and Cllr Bobbie Dove who doesn't even live in the conurbation. Lease is Item 15 at full Council tonight.

Backstory here is that the lease to a Southbourne Beach café site, held by Macemade Ltd (t/a "SoBo Beach"), is due to expire on 31/10/26 and a procurement process has resulted in a successful bid from another party. (Rumoured to be "Seventa Events Ltd".) SoBo customers set the petition up last week.

So BCP Council officers are now tearing up the Constitution to allow a petition to be presented, WAY OUTSIDE the 10-working day requirement set by Procedure Rule 4D 13.19, in which a load of beachfront café customers ask the Council to break procurement law. www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/2663312...

Jenrick’s been on quite the journey from a one nation, Remain-voting Tory, through to frothing Brexiter and on to demanding that Royal Marines murder people at sea for daring to seek refuge here. All to impress the country’s racist losers and maybe get a few more votes. Christ he’s repulsive.

It literally means nothing. I emailed the Chair & VC of the scrutiny board last fortnight asking why another item (a blue badge update) had been classed as an "ITEM FOR INFORMATION" & why Qs had to be screened in advance. No reply. The councillor who'd requested the update didn't attend the meeting

BCP officers are blatantly showing off their corruption now. Public questions & statements can only be made on "items of business", so the report below has been classed as an "ITEM CIRCULATED BETWEEN MEETINGS" 🤣🤣🤣. Other items of business are being classed as "ITEMS TO NOTE" /"ITEMS FOR INFORMATION"

When that "review of the code of conduct" finally comes to the 19 January 2027 meeting, it'll be 3 years and 5 days since the Committee voted to undertake the said review. In the meantime a small number of poorly behaved members have been getting away with murder e.g. bully Adams and leaky Butt.

That complaint was closed after a "Chair's consultation meeting" (meaning the Committee probably never did see it) on 13/8/26. Whoever it was against, all allegations were dismissed. I expect the other reason complaints are being referred to the IPs is that BCP can't afford external investigators.
010 1
Alex McKinstry @alexmckinstry.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
I expect what happened is that the complaint was made shortly before the Echo article appeared; BCP-222 is an excellent fit (Beesley is alleged to have bullied officers) - that particular complaint was referred to the Independent Persons, possibly to prevent leaks by the Committee ...

The "youth alliance" terrifies me more than the vigilantism, frankly. *Not* on the board of Safeguard Youth Alliance Ltd is Ritchie Wellman, who was convicted of robbing a 94-year-old in 2008 and who's been calling critics of the company "paedos" on Facebook; clearly he's seen as problematical ...

I love how the public in the Echo comments do more investigative journalism than the Echo's reporter (but then what did you expect?). I always assumed Safeguard got its income from Reform UK, but in fact it largely relies on the "Vigil" app, owned by GRM Ltd (same directors - Gary, Ritchie, Mark)
