Well, we also find increased contractility in the aged embryo also correlates with faster compaction at the 8-cell stage. Could this be a possible metric to see which ones will implant?

The "superpower" of sea urchins is the fact that a single female can produce millions of embryos. In the next day or so we will share a new method to analyze gene expression methods in these embryos using a fully automated, open platform.

Some Marine Cell Biology for you. Migrating cell in #ascidian (Phallusia). Cell leaves (delaminates) the neural tube and migrates towards anterior end (upper left) of forming tadpole. Thanks to AscidianBioCell team and Alberto Stolfi for the lineage-specific marker of this cell.
