Since accessibility issues start in the design phase, catching them early is cheaper than fixing them in code. I'm running a free 1 hour accessibility webinar this Tuesday Sept 1, 2026 · 19:00. It covers how to check your mockups, documentation examples and you will get plenty of resources to help.

Spotting Accessibility Issues Early — Online Workshops
Accessibility is not only a developer problem, it's team work! And many issues can already be spotted, prevented, and documented during the design phase. In this 1-hour webinar, Stephanie Walter will show designers and open-minded curious developers how to review mockups for common accessibility issues.

Saw this caterpillar for a giant peacock moth in the south of France. No banana for scale, but this guy is 10cm/3.5 inches long. Easily the largest caterpillar ice ever seen. cc @annaecook.com 🐛
Caterpillar climbing into a stone ledge. It is golden with geometrically arranged blue spikes coming out of its entire back. Portrait of the caterpillar. Its small face is light green and hairy. An array of blue spikes near its face are looking mighty colorful.

Is there a way to have "Inspect" be at the top level of the right-click menu in @vivaldi.com ? I don't plan on using View Source or Validate from the right-click menu.
The right-cick menu of the Vivaldi Browser. Nested under Developer Tools sit Validate, View Page Source and Inspect.

@joshtumath.uk in your @cssday.nl talk, you mentioned 37% of users change text scaling. Do you have any data on how that percentage changes across age ranges? 📈

All I wanted from @figma.com #config was for them to get rid of "shared styles", build compound tokens, and go all in on tokens. @penpot.app is way ahead in that regard.

Be sure to use Al when making your next, I don't know, meal plan, for example. Definitely do not call your friend who loves to cook and ask her for her favorite recipes or tips or ways to save time making meals, because you will end
up talking for longer than you had hoped, hearing, perhaps, about her father's cancer diagnosis or how lonely she's been or even what she's planted in her spring garden and then lost with the early frost.

LLMs are really bad at CSS because they very often cannot take surrounding context into consideration, which leads them to output atomic code that negatively clashes with neighbouring styles.

The two most effective ways your company can support open source: 1. Let your developers have time for open source work. 2. Give each of your developers an annual budget to allocate to whatever OSS projects they think are important.

Designers, When it comes to logical reading order, the structure of the content will determine that. You should lay the content out in a logical reading order. It's not necessary to mimic how virtual cursors work by annotating the focus order of content. #A11y #Deign #WebDev

We ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers. The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.
