I’ve seen two. My backlog is already ridiculous, I can’t add more.

iPhone users…tip from me this morning if you run a pihole. When you upgrade to iOS 27, your phone will turn on “Connectivity Assist” in your WiFi network settings and all the ads will pour in. Turn it OFF and your ad blocks will work again. Gotta do it per SSID it looks like.

Can’t even get straight answers and ballpark numbers from their websites. I get that every install is different but it feels like they only want to come to your house, give you the hard sell, and when it comes to cost say “how much ya got?” or make up a number on the spot

Exactly this. My roof is 14 years old. Putting panels on it now would be foolish. 5-10 years from now, do it all at once

Makes sense to me! Hardware’s only getting cheaper, right?

Pre-COVID, this was a problem every year at the PASS Summit welcome reception despite people asking for a change on their event feedback forms. I think I left early a few times because of it

I took a multi-year break from running. Bought new shoes this spring, got back out there , and was astonished by how cushy they were. Still am. It’s kind of a weird feeling.

We have yet to find the source of the mystery bolt. We’ve checked all the obvious places

010

Andy Levy @alevyinroc.flxsql.com · 09/08/2026

This is most definitely a bolt. The leading theory is that it fell off a rollator. We’ve checked the others two in the house plus a wheelchair and have one more rollator to check later this morning If it’s not that, I’m even more puzzled

Finding random hardware in my driveway fills me with dread. Not because I worry that it could have gotten into a tire, but because I don’t know where the hell it came from so something must be missing an important fastener

Andy Levy @alevyinroc.flxsql.com · 08/08/2026

Tell your doctor everything that doesn’t feel or seem quite right. Maybe it’s nothing. Maybe it’s important. Maybe it’s nothing today but will become an important data point later. Don’t be embarrassed or ashamed. It doesn’t make you “weak.”

The Jarvis that’s just a natural language interface or the one that runs more of the company than anyone other than Pepper?

I need to know what’s in the trailer. And how much of it could have been put in the truck bed if it was actually usable as a truck bed

How often were you hitting the max? Did you trade high highs for consistency?

Today, my eldest came to me and said "dad, do we have time for me to get an Arduino kit shipped here before <upcoming trip>? I need one for a thing I'm building and need to figure out how it works." Pulled the kit out, opened it up, and said "have at it." Being a packrat paid off! (2/2)

Andy Levy @alevyinroc.flxsql.com · 25/07/2026

Ten years ago (yes, I checked - TEN years, two months), I bought an Arduino beginner kit. Played with it for an afternoon, then set it aside. Figured I'd come back to it sometime when/if inspiration hit me with something I could do with it. (1/2)

If you've driven this route, you know it _feels_ like ten years.

No HOA here. And my south-facing roof doesn’t face any houses. Never will. When I get the roof redone, I’ll be ready for solar

What are their objections?

100

Andy Levy @alevyinroc.flxsql.com · 03/07/2026

I am shocked at how few houses I see on the Space Coast of Florida that lack solar. Even/especially the really expensive ones. Proportionally, I think my neighborhood back home has more.

I rarely get receipt requests. Been a few years since the last one. If the merchant account is configured correctly, it should automatically be tagged as a valid expense (i used to work for an HSA administrator)

Why can’t he park at the end of the lot, backed into a spot overhanging a grassy median or border where no one will be walking?

Trouble is, Letchworth was everyone’s ideal. Traffic from there to Hornell was a nightmare The road crossing in Attica was good, especially for video at cruising speed. Crossing the bridge in Elmira was a good view and I’m surprised that there weren’t more people watching.

The sticking out over the line is a minor thing with my truck. Even without the hitch, it hangs over into a second space anyway so I park at the far end of the lot

010

Andy Levy @alevyinroc.flxsql.com · 04/06/2026

They destroy knees and shins, and stick out way over the line or curb That said, I leave my hitch on if I’m going to use it again within 48 hours. If it’s more than 2 nights, I’ll remove it
