Amanda's waited for YEARS for an orphan well on her land to be cleaned up. Meanwhile, she can't build on that land or use it for livestock, and she fears the safety consequences of having a largely unmonitored well on her land. And the worst part? Amanda is far from the only one. #alberta #abpoli

A data center in New Jersey spilled 5,000 gallons of diesel fuel into a local creek, putting the area’s entire river system at risk. Is it any wonder nearly 70 percent of Americans don’t want a data center in their community?

Alberta’s current data centre policy means Alberta’s first hyper-scale centre risks adding $267-$462/year to household electricity bills. Our analysis found electricity costs are on track to rise 15%-25% every year for the next five years. #abpoli Curious to see our Perspectives? 👉 buff.ly/J6INJkw

The AER just announced its new annual 2026/27 Orphan Fund Levy to help with orphaned well clean up. Sounds great right? Wrong! Because the AER has been greatly underestimating total clean up costs for YEARS, so this levy will hardly make a dent 😠 #alberta #abnews #abpoli #cdnpoli
