#astro It’s now 3 months of no imaging whatsoever here in Scotland due to constant rain and heavy cloud. I’ve gone into my Nov files and had a play with my Heart & Soul data.

More data recycling. I shot the Lobster Claw (SH2-157) back in Sept 2023 but my original image didn't really have the Hubble-like colors I wanted. This one is much closer. #astrophotography

Evening astro! Tonight's image is of m81/82. This 24 hours of photons was gathered by my sensor over 5 sessions early in 2024 from my backyard. #astrophotography #astronomy #sonyalpha #askar
This is a wide-field astrophotography image featuring the galaxies M81 (Bode's Galaxy) and M82 (the Cigar Galaxy). M81, located near the center-right, is a grand spiral galaxy with a bright, well-defined core and faint spiral arms. M82, situated below and slightly to the left, appears elongated and reddish, indicative of intense star formation. The image also highlights a detailed background of interstellar dust clouds (IFN or integrated flux nebula) faintly illuminated by starlight, giving the scene a textured and ethereal quality. Countless stars are scattered across the field, creating a stunning cosmic panorama.

Here’s my reprocessed #IC443 #JellyfishNebula using PixInsight! Compared to my original Affinity Photo version, the PixInsight workflow brought out finer details in the filaments, improved contrast, and revealed more depth in the SHO palette. Same data, new perspective! #Astrophotography
A vivid SHO palette image of IC 443, the Jellyfish Nebula, processed using PixInsight. The intricate filaments of this supernova remnant glow with orange, teal, and deep blue hues. The improved processing reveals greater depth, contrast, and subtle structures within the nebula, showcasing its ghostly beauty against a dark starry background. An SHO palette image of IC 443, the Jellyfish Nebula, processed using Affinity Photo. The nebula features glowing orange and teal filaments, but with less contrast and detail compared to the reprocessed version. A bright yellow star below the nebula adds a striking focal point amid the stars.
