I am still in the eye of the storm of this new Level 3 Chem Eng labs I am deploying, starting next week.... But the feedback is starting to come through; or what it's worth, the SOP/COSHH/RA narrative is now one of the strongest educational sections I've seen in a first exposure laboratory module.

A PhD student looked me dead in the eye and said they cannot got go into lab because they dont have their lab key. I failed to mask my frustration with the post-covid era, surely there is someone else able to let them into the lab… theirs surely isnt the only key…

I had the privledge to award to our ENS PhD Award winner Dr Connor Beer who will be in the European final this autumn. Completed his PhD at the UoLiv, under the supervision of Maulik Patel, on the "Effect of Microstructure and Energy Deposition on Radiation-Induced Modifications in ZrN”.
