Since 2018, I have set aside 1 weekend each October for a Vampire Weekend in which I endeavor to watch as many, and as varied vampire films as I can in 72 hours. Movies from different subgenres, countries and decades. I kick off each year with a Hammer Dracula. This 9th year I've reached the last

This film is maybe even better than its already good reputation. Holy hell.

Exit Through the 9/11 Giftshop

Several pop up tents containing memorabilia related to a display of thousands of American flags places on St Louis art hill as a pop up memorial to the victims of the 9/11 attacks and service members who have passed in the ensuing Global War on Terror.

There are movies of Onslaught's ilk that are just tired and tiresome regurgitations of the same influences that have been served up to a sea lion clapping Fantastic Fest crowd for the last 18 years. Onslaught is, well, basically that but made with enough craft to make it feel worthwhile. An ok time.

Pretty wild how early screen acting peaked.

The source of the image is from a reddit post of someone trying to date an old sign that they bought. They could have been using AI then to make it but seems like pretty low engagement bait.

Lol even by Screenrant standards, this framing is bullshit

If you enjoyed what Destin Daniel Cretton brought to directing Spider-Man: Brand New Day, you owe it to yourself to check out his excellent first film, Short Term 12. An early lead role for Brie Larson and the feature debut of LaKieth Stanfield. The story of the workers in a group home for teens.

A book alternating between covering the multimedia narrative of the album and the production of the album and of the viral campaign. And if there's word count left, some reflection how the predicted 2020s compared to the real.

I can't deny that certain parts of Her Private Hell scratched a particular itch but overall this movie just dodt not work for me much all. Seeing Refn whiff it in this neon dreamscape with leatherbound shadow killers just made me appreciate filmmakers like Panos Cosmatos even more.

This week marked the 20th anniversary of one my favorite films, Richard Linklater's A Scanner Darkly. Of the many Phillip K Dick adaptations, one of the very best at translating his work to another form, not just out of closer fidelity to the plot but on capturing the emotion and displacement.

I'm. The making of book of AI: Artificial Intelligence, it is mentioned that Kubrick drew ideas from a book called Mind Children. I would argue that Morevec deserved just as much credit/ royalties as Brian Adliss did for the story AI officially adapts.

Dawned on me that this year marks 15 years since the release of Attack the Block. I've always wished that would have caught on more. A better vision of how to build on and update the whole "kids on bikes"subgenre than period-piece Spielberg retreads. Unfortunately it grossed 1/40th of Super 8's take

I have often remarked that many of the "popcorn buckets" are basically just toys that they encourage you to shove popcorn into a bit of space inside but in the case of castle grey skull, that's just literally true. One of the towers being a drink cup is pretty neat though
