If you search for OSASCOMP in your search engine of choice, there are loads of diagrams. Is that what you meant?

He's not with us anymore but our old boss, Tony Worthington, was a massive cheerleader for us and he's sadly missed.

According to Photos (which is the only actual memory I have) it's 8 years to the day since me and @r0siej0.bsky.social moved in together and lots of people told us it wouldn't work. Spoilers, it really did. If you're equivocating, as Nike would say, just fucking do it

I always remember the Great Lakes with HOMES (Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, Superior). Thankfully the renamed lakes also have a helpful mnemonic, SHAME.

My take home reading about Dolly Parton tonight is that, however good you think she was, she was better than that. An example of how you can always choose to do the right thing and lift people up with you. GNU Dolly

I started my PhD program with an eight week old at home, sole income being my doctoral stipend, in a history program, in Knoxville, TN. And every month we got a new book to read to my son, free, mailed to us, so my kid, my kids, grew up in rooms full of books even when I had no money. That's Dolly.

It's true though, you can complete one in 18 months if "complete" includes submitting a pamphlet, not getting to via and not even being offered to option to write up for an MPhil. It's a kind of completion...

I've never yet been sent a plasmid by anyone that is exactly what it was claimed to be. One time it had a different antibiotic marker. Another time, I got 4 clones for protein expression that made no protein. Turns out they had no start codon. Why did you even have those in the first place?!

I'm on B this time and the, allegedly, C in July but I'm guessing we'll be told to fund 1 grant per panel by that point or something. Feels like there is a system entirely built on free labour that they have now said, nah, you've had enough cash
