No update on Allisha Gray at this time from Atlanta's post-game.

Dream have forced five turnovers in the first four minutes of the second half and gone on a 13-3 run. Just a nightmare in the halfcourt.

Dream only -4 in six minutes with Gray in the locker room.

Allisha Gray going to the locker room holding her left hand was the last thing the Dream needed this early in the series. Think she got hit going through a screen.

For what it's worth Dream coach Karl Smesko said he wasn't sure about the possibility of where WNBA Finals games in Atlanta would be held. State Farm Arena is booked on those dates. On if there's been conversations about a different venue: "My guess is yes, but nobody has talked to me about it."

Auburn-Tennessee is a very interesting match-up where one team is clearly better, but the inferior team's best unit is its D-line and the superior team's worst unit is its O-line. Might be enough to throw the game in doubt on its own!

I'm far from the first person to point this out, but watching Rich Rodriguez run the same offense he did 20 years ago (with success!) is such a delightful experience.

Caitlin Clark opening her mouth and pointing to her displaced tooth in front of the ref is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. It is like when baseball players point to scuffed chalk after a fair/foul call except she did it with her mouth. 10/10 no notes.

This is not a specific shot at either columnist by any means, but I find it very interesting. The left is a Philadelphia Inquirer column after game one, the right is an AJC column yesterday. I realize "blame the manager" is always the easiest button to push and where fans want blood, but still!

Philadelphia Inquirer headline: "Don Mattingly puts his future with the Phillies in peril as his strategy with Jhoan Duran backfires"

AJC headline: "A bullpen decision backfires and the Braves are up against it."

Credit to Ryan Ruocco for just straight up calling the officiating embarrassing because 50 fouls in 35 minutes of basketball is, in fact, embarrassing.

Is there like a cool German word for "Losing a playoff series to the Phillies would be a bummer but losing one to the Dodgers would be 1000000000000x worse so what should've be a painful loss is like mildly annoying at absolute most" or what.

It will get lost because of, well, the same reason it always does, but this second half has been a good reminder Aliyah Boston is still very much That Player.

I again realize I'm an old man yelling at a cloud, but man trying to explain to an 87-year-old Chicagoan in my family why both the White Sox and Cubs will not be on television for their postseason games really sucks! We have jumped the shark so far on streaming!

There's times where teams playing against this Dream defense in the halfcourt looks generally how I imagine a piece of paper feels while going through a shredder.

I understand the entire narrative was always going to be Kiffin but man, LSU-Ole Miss is awesome. These are really good football teams playing an even game in an incredible environment. This rocks, and would without the coach drama.

Not sure how to articulate this but Florida looks like Florida. Just generally looks and feels how a Florida football team should. Game-breaking athletes any opponent would worry about. So much speed. Some swagger. Feels like Percy Harvin could be lurking anywhere. Hopefully this makes sense.

Sometimes you get to like 5-6 p.m. on a college football Saturday and feel like it's going to be a Great One and this is that. Probably one of the best we'll get all year. Rutgers is going up and down the field on USC and it's like the fourth most interesting thing going on right now.

If you explained that ending in Nashville without any context or team names and asked people who they thought it happened to....I feel like NC State would be in most people's first five guesses? Top three? Brutally on brand ending.

I think Oklahoma fans can submit a very strong argument they just had the worst CFB Saturday of all time right there. Oklahoma State and Texas getting wins like that while you lose a big game in the exact same way your recently extended coaching staff has lost all of its big games. Just brutal.

If the issue in Ann Arbor stemmed from the stadium clock and the NBC clock not being properly synced…that is a pretty huge lapse by NBC! The entire country thought the game was over because what the broadcast showed was different to what was actually on the scoreboard in the stadium!

This game has been a remarkable disasterclass in scoring area offense. Just every single thing you would tell an offense not to do after it crosses the opponent’s 40, done to the maximum by both teams.

The thing I can't understand about people putting the Braves in WS conversations or saying the Dodgers could be vulnerable to them is Atlanta's offense has been...objectively awful for a lot of the season. The team wRC+ over the last 81 games is 92, also known as 27th in baseball and 14th in the NL.

I think they're at the Kobe/Shaq phase of sleepwalking into a 2 or 3 seed every year and then deciding to play. They were 37-37 over their last 74 in 2025 then ripped off a 9-1 the instant the playoffs started. I want *nothing* more than to be wrong but I'm highly skeptical they have real problems.

I am back at Triple-A Gwinnett covering AJ Smith-Shawver's rehab start. The theme here is "2010s night" which I guess is far enough away to be an actual throwback. A brutal reminder of time's inevitable drumbeat as Smith-Shawver toes the rubber in his continued push to re-join the Braves.

I don't know if it's because it's the middle of the afternoon or if it's playing in a parking lot nowhere near anything usually bumble around, but the World Cup Final has the aesthetics of like, a college football buy game. I'm waiting for a pan to a half empty student section at 45-0 in the fourth.
