For no reason at all, I've been thinking about Tom Sharpe's Throwback, an amusing, if deeply mean-spirited book, in which one character dies, is stuffed and packed full of animatronics, and spends a few chapters zipping around on a remote controlled wheelchair whilst spouting pre-recorded phrases.
