I have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Nothing much is going to change for me… It just means I gain a better understanding of why I feel flattened after a day of work (at a job that really isn’t that demanding most of the time) and have to go to bed by 9pm as a 40-something adult. 🥴

I have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

It explains a lot. I tire easily, have to sleep 9+ hours to feel rested, and never find exercise invigorating.

But…

Having a diagnosis only helps settle my mind a bit. It doesn’t magically grant me more energy to do things.

There isn’t much to be done about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

So if I seem a little less excited, a little less enthusiastic, it’s probably only because I’m tired and can’t muster anything more.

Children of Wrath comes out in 15 days! I’ll be trying to save my spoons for launch day. 🚀

i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

Absolutely. The character can reason to themselves in the moment though, and that reasoning, even if flawed, leads to their choice.

I prefer characters who make bad choices for believable reasons. Fear, loyalty, pride, love, or survival can make a terrible decision seem reasonable. The choice can still be wrong. If morally complicated characters are your thing, follow me. We probably read similar books. 📚🪐
