Halfsoul has a few brushes with grief. One of the first pieces of worldbuilding I created about Ulong-Dan were its funeral rites. In an early draft, they lasted for an entire month, but that seemed too long for the story to move forward, so now they last for 4 days. An-Yin refers to this change
