TLDR: Fur Affinity's advertising partners are demanding that they ban adult content. Sciggles and FA want to firmly tell them to go fuck themselves. If they're going to be able to afford to do that, they need the community's help. Pitch in. Keep furry weird. www.furaffinity.net/journal/1143...

I had the honor of listening to this album early and I am not exaggerating when I say I genuinely believe K is a visionary who's actively setting the template for furry music and dare i say rock music as a whole going forward. give them your money and spread the word I am BEGGING YOU

photo of the art show/listening party for Spring Silver's upcoming album Mixed Race. three large prints of their art is front and center, with several sketches and notes and cut up prints scattered across the floor. the room is colored in pink and green lighting

Just in case you didn't know ModRetro fucking sucks and "Automated War Initiative" is a disgusting title Also, War Crime Enthusiast Palmer Luckey is incredibly thin skinned and will chase you around various social media platforms if you talk sauce about him and his shitty M64. Worth it.

FB comment:

Palmer Luckey: Mike Fink the M64 is $230 not $320 and it is far more powerful than the Mister. We developed our own core and open sourceed all the hardware and software

And Aduril helps kill Russians, not children

Me: Palmer Free Luckey that's without the controller, not included, which is $90

And also fuck you

We still clown on you with memes
Palmer Luckey and is shit handheld emulator, along with other fascists that don't care about human life, like Elon Musk and JD Vance

I frequently see "AI" boosters implying that LLMs are simply an innate and superior part of coding now, inescapable, and that literally all programmers agree with them. And, well. That, too, is a form of propaganda

Looking at my software peers in 2026 I see fatigued faces, I see frustration, and I see a lot of people looking for a way out of an industry that seems poised on the brink of collapse. LLMs are being pushed on us at every turn, most people seem at best frustrated by them, and ultimately they seem to appeal most to people who see the production of software as a purely mechanical means to an end. They are antithetical, however, to the idea of software as a craft, or something requiring both initial and ongoing care. As an expression of the soul.

54. Oh Sees - Face Stabber. really fucking good heavy psychedelic garage rock. the exact kinda repetitive earwormy stuff i like. John Dwyer is a guitar god and i keep trying to talk my band into getting a second drummer because of this album but they keep turning me down

cover to the album Face Stabber by Oh Sees. features a painting of an evil looking buff green orc with a ponytail on an orange background.

53. Lourdes - Oh God (WCWM Session). not really an album but when am i ever gonna talk about this. it's a live-in-studio session by a college band at the College of William & Mary in like 2012 that Will Toledo was briefly involved with in some form. it's really nice kinda soft indie rock

cover to the EP(?) Oh God by Lourdes. it's a photograph of a beaded necklace of some kind, with interchanging small red and large cyan beads. i don't know the significance of it and for the longest time i thought it was just some random image someone attached to the album on last.fm but nope this was the cover on bandcamp back when this was on bandcamp

52. Lil Ugly Mane - Volcanic Bird Enemy and the Voiced Concern. the first time I heard this album was in my friend Bea's dad's car as he was driving us somewhere. I was half asleep and this album kinda took over my conscious. took me a couple months to relisten and realize just how good it really is

cover for Lil Ugly Mane's album Volcanic Bird Enemy and the Voiced Concern. the scenery is a white wall with an outlet at the bottom right and the album's title at the top center in an orange bubbly serifed font. looks kinda like Cooper Black but not quite. the cover's centerpiece is a painting of Lil Ugly Mane resting his head on a dive bar, a cop puppet and a large white duck mascot on either side of him.

51. Half Japanese - Our Solar System. probably my favorite of their earlyish material. carries a lot of punky garage rock energy and features really good wailing saxophone throughout

cover of Half Japanese's album Our Solar System. features a photograph of a very thin woman laying down on the floor with a big grin. a drawing of the big dipper constellation is overlaid on the photograph, with the stars Megrez and Phecda positioned such that they cover her nipples. the band's name is at the top of the image, the album title at the bottom, both in a thin and tall sans serifed font.

50. Spring Silver - Don't You Think It's Strange?. insanely fucking good post-hardcore. i bought a CD off of K at a listening party they did in Brooklyn for their new album (which is also stupidly amazing and needs to be listened to by Everyone when it comes out), worth every dollar

cover to the album Don't You Think It's Strange by Spring Silver. features a collage of human characters, anthropomorphic creatures, and cartoonish living objects co-existing an urban space that's well-incorporated into natural greenery. the album's title is front and center, its black text on white background in a bold sans serif font standing out from the main art.

49. The Apples in stereo - Her Wallpaper Reverie. a very weird album structurally. really only has like seven songs with the rest of the runtime taken up by brief variations on the same motif, but god damn if it's not some of if not the best set of songs The Apples ever recorded

cover to the album Her Wallpaper Reverie by The Apples in stereo. features an abstract vertical design on the left resembling old-timey wallpaper, and the album's title and band's name in an exceptionally groovy green font on a brown background on the right.

48. The Animals - The Animals. one of my many Specific Mildly Embarrassing Musical Weaknesses is, for some reason, british rhythm & blues. something about the like amateurish yet polished takes on the R&B songbook for reasons unexplained tickle my fancy like not much else does

cover to The Animals' 1964 self-titled album. it features a photograph of the band behind what appear to be some wooden bars or small trees and in front of a brick wall, smiling dopely. the band's name flanks the photo's right, displayed vertically in a sensible modern yet aggressively early 60s yellow font.

47. Guided by Voices - Bee Thousand. took me an embarrassingly long time to get to this album. perfect pop played and recorded imperfectly is My Thing

cover for the album Bee Thousand by Guided by Voices. features a mostly white background with some geometric shapes on the left and the figure of a man wearing a wizard robe and hat of some kind on the right. above it the band's name is displayed upside down and the album title below it, with the words spaced out to roughly match the space taken up by the band title.

46. The Holy Modal Rounders - The Holy Modal Rounders. probably my favorite album from the whole Greenwich folk revival scene. guitar, fiddle and banjo that screams appalaicha but sung lyrics that take it in much weirder and brainy places. first recorded use of the word "psychedelic" on record too

cover to The Holy Modal Rounders' 1964 self-titled album. It features Steve Weber and Peter Stampfel sitting next to each other on the ground, guitar and fiddle in hand respectively. above them is the text "The Holy Modal Rounders" in a blue cartoonish serifed font

FA regardless of your personal feelings, is the core of the fandom and losing it would mean YEARS AND YEARS of art, messages, pages, and memorials for people that have passed, would be gone. We CANNOT allow ourselves to rely simply on sites like bsky, twitter, insta, etc. etc. to be our defaults.
