Always baffled why people working on laptops in public - coffee shops, airports, planes - do not use security screens. Company secrets, opsec etc.

Here’s the most incredible story you’ll read today. A small plane with four people aboard crashes in a field. Another pilot witnesses it. That pilot happens to be flying a bunch of skydivers. They offer to jump to assist, are given permission. The skydivers happen to be EMTs. Everyone survives.

Skydivers alert emergency crews, assist after plane crashes near East Troy airport

Four people were aboard the single-engine plane when it went down in a cornfield near Carvers School Road in East Troy at about 1:30 p.m.

As I leave for a week of travel, a positive story. This week I picked up hemmed pants at Nordies in Seattle. They were running late, so I stood off to the side to wait. Every single person who walked up politely asked if was awaiting the register. There was no rudeness. It was humanity at its best

Ever since I complained about the Seattle Mayors choice to enforce trash bin ordinances vs ordinances on things that have real impact, I am receiving lots of conservative leaning content. Just … no. But it is entertaining. And wow - these folks really push the religion button hard.

I was required to take home ec. I was the only girl in the ‘electricity’ class which taught home wiring. They wouldn’t let me take wood shop. HS in a small town in a very conservative area. Girls could not wear jeans either. everyone walked a few feet off campus to a trailer for seminary - Mormons!

I do not want a public servant potentially harassed, so I deleted the post where I did not adequately block out the name and phone number of the caller. I instead included the voice mail text in a letter to the city council.

So this is SPU and the Mayors Office. And a complete waste of reources. They called and texted me they will start dining next week. So @mayor.seattle.gov putting you on notice. I’m blasting the phone and text to every media entity. It says this waste of resources is at the direction of the mayor.

If this were an email I would have been more suspicious of it (see pic). The red lettering, the immediacy of action, the legal language, the threats if action is not taken. It’s a classic phishing approach. So either the city is doing this, or someone has too much time on their hands …

Cruz is a healthy, 12-year-old sweetheart whose owner made the difficult decision to give him up when she couldn’t care for him anymore. He has so much love to give you. He’s available for adoption in Southern California.

Soft and gentle white golden retriever.

We hope Cruze gets to fall asleep somewhere and wake up knowing exactly where he is. We hope someone learns how he likes to be scratched and which side of the couch he prefers. We hope there are slow walks where nobody minds if he stops for a while, quiet afternoons when being in the same room is enough, and nights when someone reaches down to touch his head just because he’s there.

We hope this because Cruze is twelve years old, and he already knows that a good life is made up of a thousand little things.

This sweet Golden Retriever came to Santa Barbara Humane when his owner’s health made it impossible for her to continue caring for him. She loved him enough to make an impossibly difficult decision, and that love is still written all over Cruze. He is gentle, affectionate, and wonderfully friendly. His previous owner reports that he is house trained and did well with other animals, and these days, he seems perfectly content with the softer pleasures of life: companionship, comfort, and having someone nearby.

Cruze has received a full medical work-up, including laboratory testing, and recently had his teeth cleaned. Right now, he is staying in a foster home, but we keep thinking about all those ordinary things waiting to become his again. A favorite spot. A familiar voice calling his name from another room. His own water bowl on someone’s kitchen floor. The little routines that don’t seem remarkable until one day you realize they are what a life together is made of.

There may be younger dogs who can promise you more years. Cruze can only promise you his. And we think they could be very, very beautiful ones.

Cruze is available to meet by appointment through our Santa Barbara Campus. To learn more or arrange a meeting, email Adopt@SBHumane.org.

@mayor.seattle.gov City of Seattle has 1001+ problems right now that need attention. One of them is not that my trash cans sat on a strip of land between the sidewalk and the street - impeding nothing - for an extra day. What a waste of resource to serve me a written notice. Is Seattle now an HOA?

Shocking that so many of you are just realizing that democrats are genuinely bad at politics and are really weak. They won’t support anything if they think it’s too hard. They don’t try to change the narrative. They fold. That - and not whatever the topic - is what turns off voters.

Does anyone else get annoyed when there are differences in content between an audiobook and the book you read on Kindle? Usually it’s small stuff / like editing out a scene or two but sometimes the story meaningfully change. Am I wrong to assume the audiobook is narration of the written book?
