Incredibly excited to share the cover for my next #fantasy book, Friends for Lonely Gods! I've been discussing it here and there in writing-related prompts, but expect more soon! Please check out the artist @markerslinger.bsky.social! It turned out PERFECT!

Cover art for the novel Friends for Lonely Gods by Madeleine Marie-Rose, featuring its main characters Bell, Mammoth, and Sallow.
Sallow happens to be a hydra but they're all getting along just fine

Here's a snippet from The Forgotten Princess, my entry for #BookBazaar26. Enjoy this #TBBPrompt preview!

Text snippet that reads:

As if reading her mind, Orn spoke. “Maybe these Librarians are monsters in disguise. I mean, luring pretty princesses and oafish, stinky knights into their lair.” He chuckled, but as Laela turned on him he gulped.

“Pretty?” Damn that blush on her face.

“I didn’t mean that,” Orn stammered.

“You didn’t?” Laela, part glad, part not, blinked.

“I am just going to shut up now.”

#tbbchat I think Lana would likely enjoy a bit more tech in Kaelum, more reminiscent to home — especially quicker ways to travel that don’t involve riding on the back of a dragon.

AJ Nora | 🏳️‍🌈 Queer Normative Fantasy Romance @ajnorabooks.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

#tbbchat my FMC is from our world, so she would be whatever about it. Meredith and Vas would be fascinated, while Alix would think it’s all some profane magic and try to chop it in half with her sword or set everything on fire.

AJ Nora | 🏳️‍🌈 Queer Normative Fantasy Romance @ajnorabooks.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

#tbbchat technology is widely accepted, but not widely accessible. Partly because magic, which would run some of the tech, is forbidden~

#tbbchat magic~!! At least some of it anyway. My story is set in a fantasy world named Kaelum. Much of the technology they have from hundreds of years ago is a mix between physics and magic, like water elevators that were originally built by magical means. However, 1/2

A colored bust sketch of Tae from Between You, Me, and the Moonlit Sea. He's got tan skin and gray eyes, and his hair is blond at the top and dark brown at the bottom. He's wearing a pastel pink and blue overshirt with a white shirt underneath. (Art by @xaika.)

Sometimes I write places in Kaelum and it makes me so very nostalgic, but in a yearning for something I never truly had kind of way—a yearning for the magical forest I used to wander as a child that I was certain was full of fairies at the time, but age, my aging, stole the sparkle #bookbazaar26
