Gently direct your attention back to the life & feelings you're committed to creating, over & over again, as many times as it takes. Remind yourself: there is no shame in this being hard-- & no need to try to bully yourself into compliance. Be patient, kind-- & consistent.

Google illegally monopolized online advertising markets, US judge rules
Federal judge deals blow to tech giant and paves way for government to break up company’s advertising products Alphabet’s Google illegally dominated two markets for online advertising technology, a judge ruled on Thursday, dealing another blow to the tech giant and paving the way for US antitrust prosecutors to seek a breakup of its advertising products. The US district judge Leonie Brinkema in Alexandria, Virginia, found Google liable for “willfully acquiring and maintaining monopoly power” in markets for publisher ad servers and the market for ad exchanges which sit between buyers and sellers. Publisher ad servers are platforms used by websites to store and manage their ad inventory. Antitrust enforcers failed to prove a separate claim that the company had a monopoly in advertiser ad networks, she wrote. Continue reading...

About 15% of world’s cropland polluted with toxic metals, say researchers

Approximately 14 to 17% of cropland globally – roughly 242m hectares – is contaminated by at least one toxic metal such as arsenic, cadmium, cobalt, chromium, copper, nickel or lead, at levels that exceed agricultural and human health safety thresholds. When we're kids, we're not equipped, emotionally or physically, to generate our own safety. We NEED the adults in our life to step up-- but we don't know we need that, or how to ask for it. It's not our fault we were vulnerable. Being vulnerable is not a sin, crime, or failure.

Re-arm, reassure and spend big: how the Asia Pacific is responding to a new era under Trump
The US president has upset global norms in the space of weeks, spurring a flurry of defence spending, diplomatic overtures and offers to boost trade Donald Trump’s return to the White House has stoked fears over Washington’s commitment to the security of its allies in the Asia Pacific at a time when tensions are running high in the region, home to several potential flashpoints. Countries across the region are urgently considering their options in a new era where the US president has sided with Russia over its invasion of Ukraine, suggested “cleaning out” Gaza in order to redevelop it, and unleashed punishing tariffs on allies and enemies alike. Dutton: “I don’t know because I’m not a scientist. Scientists can provide advice.” No, Peter, scientists provide EVIDENCE. Tested and retested. You don’t have to be a scientist to trust science any more than you need to be a brain surgeon to trust a competent brain surgeon. Still in denial.

All this explains why Dutton committed to his $600b nuclear scheme, then stopped talking about it. It’s a plan to please the climate deniers in his party. But that $600b has to come from somewhere - and you’ll be the one to pay for it. (7/7)

Survivors are often in the position of feeling shame for falling behind on life stuff-- dentist appointments, physicals, car maintenance, taxes-- because we're busy managing triggers, trauma responses, & recovery. No shame. You're not alone-- & you can get back on track.
