Having a midfield engine like Wirtz reminds me a lot of Wijnaldum. It doesn’t always get praise but is absolutely essential to the team performances we are aspiring to. Gini and Flo are two very different players for sure, but love the energy and effort regardless.

🤣🤣🤣 love the sentiments. There is no coach in world football that deserves it more than Simione, cannot stand him.

Feels like the first real test this season. Played ok overall, but a way to go still. DM is still a mess. Fitness is starting to look decent though. Hope Barcola is OK. Wirtz bossed in MF, well done Flo. #LFC

Thought I read somewhere that Araujo was weak on his ball skills 🤣🤣🤣? Nice assist! #LFC

Dom may be a world class player, but he is not a world class no. 6…. #LFC

Who is the guy with number 18 on his shirt, don’t recognize him? #LFC

Completely understood and agreed, though this one was definitely on the egregious side IMHO. You do see this get called in EPL, but more often than not it’s just missed (they literally did not see it), mostly because you don’t expect to see it at this level.

Completely agree with your point. With the foul throw-in, the ball technically should not have been live, just wondering if VAR is even allowed to rule on this point? The only reason they would be able to was due to it being the direct run of play that led to the PK.

000

I’m honestly wondering if this is a bit of a loophole in the VAR rules.

000

Hungarian Moreno 🤣🤣🤣

000

Serious question: is VAR allowed to rule on a foul throw-in during the build up to a penalty kick situation being reviewed? I did not notice it during the game, but it definitely was an illegal throw-in by NFO in the lead up to the so called ‘foul’ by Allison on Nico that led to the PK. #LFC

May not be a popular opinion, but I thought Frimpong was less of a liability in this game than Kerkez was. But Frimpong looks like he is playing at 100% to get 95% of what we need (no room for improvement). Jury is still out on Kerkez for me… #LFC

We have to get the DM thing sorted though. Macca seems a step in the right direction, but Dom was not the right pairing for him. Ironically, he looked better at RB.

I have glass is half full outlook generally, but did not like watching so many of our games last season. Iraola really is bringing something different, so that is good. But I think it’s the increased energy and industry on the field that’s really giving a positive feeling so far this season. #LFC

Can’t say we deserved more than that on the balance of play. Pretty rough around the edges still. Munoz, Macca and Jaquet all looked good.

010

Trey looks good but needs to put on some mass. #LFC

Starting a little late with this 🤣🤣🤣

Not much better on USA network here…

000

Welcome back Macca, feels like you’ve been gone for about a year and a half. #LFC

At Dick's Sporting Goods. Guy in front of me bought a mesh soccer ball bag. Speaking on his phone he says "I'm in line. Nope. I only ever buy my ball bags at Dick's." 10 year old behind us starts laughing so hard he craps himself.

This didn’t age well, unfortunately.

That was short lived happiness… #LFC

Unfortunately Rio is looking like last season Gakpo, but on the other side of the pitch. Very one dimensional. #LFC

This is Newcastle at St. James, it was never going to be a walk in the park. Still underwhelmed by our performance so far though. #LFC

Liking Frimpong’s industry in this game so far. I was definitely one of his doubters last season, but less so now. #LFC
