MAYBE the issue is the CVT fluid I used... its compatible fluid but it was the cheaper stuff, so perhaps its freaking out the transmission after a bit of heat. And considering how I drive...

My car is still STUTTERING after long periods of drive! I suppose specifically its long periods of stop and go driving. It doesn't act like this after long periods of highway driving UNTIL you get back slow again Battery didn't fix, stock air box didn't fix.

Annoyingly it is becoming obvious how much more midrange torque the airbox provides the car than the hot air intake. The peaky power of the custom setup was still fun, but midrange torque makes a car feel "fast".

The custom intake experiment failed. Or at least demanded more complex materials than I had on hand. Aluminum sheet heat shielding eventually started to bake the inlet, feeding the engine hot air and having it cut out in these 100 deg days. So I went back to stock... ACCEPT

Spent an hour and basically $10 to search the yard and didn't even find exactly what I was looking for 😫 but I did find some parts I might be able to modify for my goal. Still costed $25. All this to fix my car that isn't necessarily broke, just worse than I want it

You know what I forgot how multiple moments before the battery did used to struggle to turn on the car a couple times, and when the car cut out it was a total cut out, like full power off. Not just the engine. So maybe the battery isn't off base, but other other shit is up too

Just dreamed about there being a new brick and mortar hobby store in my town. It was called "Oops! All Boost!" and specialized in electric EDF jets, but big ones. Yes they still sold RC Ground and Water craft. Gawd I desperately miss good Hobby stores
