Keep cool, my babies. Nintendo of America hasn’t lost your completion of that Bananza Boss Rush behind their desk. They didn’t vacuum up the record of you clearing the Final Rehearsal with zero skills. Your Donkey Kong Jr. Math calculations weren’t fed to the shredder. They’re just running behind.

It is worth to note that us, who are into television and movies have what feels like two centuries worth of media that chances are we have only seen like ten percent of in our lives. That backlog will certainly help.

Y'know, as turbulent and troubling as the merged Paramount/WB company Skydance is, the best we can all do other than hoping everyday that it falls apart is to support their releases and IPs, showing how much you care for them. Particularly the Warner Archive and their third-party content licenses.

I think a lot of the panic (at the Disco) over the whole Skydance thing stems from: 1. We're still fresh off the Warner Bros. Discovery debacle, which left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths. 2. The Ellisons are, as Brian Shapiro would put it, tRump mushroom gobblers.

This month, five years ago, is when I saw my first two ever Ghibli films with Spirited Away and Kiki's Delivery Service. Was able to watch those on streaming due to HBO Max having the Ghibli library and while that service has gone downhill after it's launch, it did create those good memories.

Maybe the Disney+ agreement that Sony did was for "paid subscription streaming platforms," not "free, ad-supported streaming services," like what Tubi is, allowing them to get Homecoming.

One thing that I've started to embrace more in hard times in the world is to try to be graceful for the stuff we have and to thrive in spite of what the crappy higher-ups will do. Will give credit to DK Vine for being one of those places where I've learned that a bit. ⬇️

EG fell for it too. :( The Capcom presentation contains a slide with "AI世代のゲームエンジンへ" - the article omits the "へ", for one, but the issue is that while 世代 means 'generation', it's in the 'console generation' sense, not like GenAI. Without へ, translation software gets it totally wrong.

Today is the last day of business for Warner Bros Discovery. A controversial business decision from the start only to lead to chaos and inevitably being absorbed by another media company. It also marks the end of an era as a standalone film studio as it’s now linked to Paramount.

Everyone went on about the graphics at the time, but perhaps the biggest reason why the Donkey Kong Country games rode the 1990s zeitgeist, and even sucked in the adults of our life? The New Age-influenced soundtracks. “Pure Moods” wasn’t just a CD compilation. It was Rare’s entire philosophy.
