Does this mean there's a new Tim book due out? ;-)

We fairly randomly ended up stopping there last year, without even knowing it existed. I mean we knew the services existed, obviously... It's a glorious bit of dilapidated genius, and I'm delighted how many others see that!

That particular system is really only for pots - I think it would struggle to shift the volume for a whole garden.

Ours just has a line you drop into a bucket of water; solar powered, very impressed with it. Non Amazon options are probably available ;-) www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0GHR1Z4V...

Looming can be a wonderful defuser. I think idiots having to tilt their heads back to see me causes blood to follow back into their rational thought centres!

I don't normally abuse my "ridiculously tall bearded bloke" powers, but it's nice to see that they still seem to convey "this is a bad idea" when exerted in someone's personal space.

Much celebration as we finally enter the 21st century and have fibre all the way to the house. I have to say, the installation was *way* smoother than the FTTC which involved a man from OpenReach glaring at his various testing tools and muttering a lot.

It's at times like this that I reflect on the moment 6 years ago when we looked at the quote for proper A/C and decided it was an excessive luxury and that "Wales is cooler than London anyway". Past me really can be an idiot sometimes.

Scanning tech would turn every phone into a surveillance device ⚠️ Ministers may claim this is to stop children sharing intimate images. But it means forcing every adult through a digital ID checkpoint and scanning all private images by default. Once the infrastructure exists, it will be expanded.

I still love the theory a Year 6 child proposed to me that David Attenborough is actually God and he got fed up with people not noticing the amazing things he'd created, so he made documentaries to show off.

So exactly how much peaceful protest against genocide is too much protest against genocide? Jewish people *must* feel safe and free to be themselves. This is not the way.

Another Bandcamp Friday; the last few months I've rounded out my @cosmograf.bsky.social collection, and gone a little shopping-crazy with the magnificent Comedy of Errors (comedyoferrors.bandcamp.com/music); any other prog-adjacent folk deserving of any money I have left after buying more IQ stuff?!

I can *only* assume that the new owners took one look at the code and/or data and were so terrified by the vulnerabilities / legal liabilities of leaving it online they pulled it down on the spot. Which is, of course, only made worse by the radio silence and outright lies...
