I had Claude extract the comments from my old wordpress blog. This one was fun to remember ahl.dtrace.org/2016/06/19/a...

The statement at the beginning of the article that "APFS, the Apple File System, relies on Core Storage functionality" is not accurate. Apple File System does not use any functionality or code whatsoever from CoreStorage. Apple File System was developed completely from scratch.

Hey Dominic, thanks for the comment. That was the my understanding after our conversation at WWDC, my apologies for getting it wrong. I'll make the appropriate update. Was I wide of the mark on anything else?

Thanks for updating it. Everything else seems correct. Also, thanks for the even handed review.

Absolutely crazy OxF yesterday with the @oxide.computer team and @bcantrill.bsky.social. The supply chain is a mess and a critical part for us went from a few bucks to, a few hundred, to unobtainable. What followed was some amazing luck, followed by bad luck, followed by good luck, and on and on...

Man this guy sucks

Last September, when an aide told Fetterman that officials with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, known as CHOP, wanted to meet because they were worried about Medicaid cuts, he was dismissive.
Fetterman
Why do I have to keep having to meet with chop
Aide
Because they are worried about vaccines and Medicaid cuts.
Fetterman
Well I'm not

Each company is weird and unique in so many ways. I think it's very hard in the moment--or even in hindsight--to truly know which of those idiosyncrasies was essential to success (or to failure?) and which merely came along for the ride.
