MPs like @steveracemp.bsky.social are responsible for the death of the Assisted Dying Bill. Supporters of the bill who didn't show up. Just 16 votes short. Shame on you Steve Race.
A graphic showing Steve Race didn't vote in the Assisted Dying bill, and that Green MP Adrian Ramsay did, and voted for the bill.

Make this make sense. A Party with less than a quarter of the vote could win three times the seats of a party with a fifth of the vote. The way to stop Reform is to ditch undemocratic and unrepresentative FPTP. Electoral reform. Now.
Poll showing Reform on 24% with predicted 291 seats and Green Party on 20% of the vote and predicted 102 seats.

🥳 Greens lead in Gorton and Denton. ❓️And all those undecideds wondering where best to cast their vote to beat the hatemongers, it's now clear. 💚 Only the Green Party can beat Reform UK.
Bar chart showing Greens in the lead on 20% with Reform UK on 17% and Labour on 15%. But there are still 27% undecided.

Labour will be rooting for a Reform win in Gorton and Denton. Vote Green for people power, community, hope. It's what both Labour and Reform fear most.
Graphic produced by Manchester Green Party. Text: Labour know it's over. Quote from a Labour source: "They want us to go and knock on doors but we all know it is between the Greens and Reform. It's Caerphilly all over again. The Greens winning is actually the worst case scenario because it confirms our vote is going to them."
IT'S GREENS VS REFORM. VOTE HOPE, NOT HATE.

Nothing remotely opportunistic or hypocritical to see here.
A clip from the Guardian politics live blog:
The Green party says Nadhim Zahawi has joined Reform UK for opportunist reasons. This is from the Green MP Ellie Chowns.

"Another discredited Conservative has landed on the shores of Reform UK. Nadhim Zahawi is the chancellor turned chancer – trying his luck with Nigel Farage’s outfit having completely discredited himself in the Conservative party.

"Is this the same Mr Zahawi that said of Nigel Farage, your comments are offensive and racist and I would be frightened to live in a country run by you? Indeed, it would appear it is."

Thanks for the recent delivery. However, I'll be voting for real hope & real change not fear and hatred. #VoteGreen I trust the worms in my compost bin to turn the leaflet into something useful 🪱

⚠️ New powers targeting antisocial behaviour, a copy and paste from the last Tory government. ⚠️ Slashing overseas aid and increasing defence spending to 2.5% is a Reform policy. 🤔 Is anyone still working at the No 10 Policy Unit?

Still using Twitter/X? How much more will it take to persuade you otherwise?

Last year Bristol Central, this year University Challenge. Congratulations @carladenyer.bsky.social on continuing that winning streak!

Timely passing. #JimmyCarter reminds us that good men can become president of the US. He put his neighbour and the planet first. The complete antithesis of Trump. RIP

Love this! As reported in the latest @privateeyenews.bsky.social Nigel Farage totally fails to impress A Level politics students at a recent conference. @sianberry.bsky.social is the winner!
Screenshot of part of an article in Private Eye magazine: Did the cheeky chappie's charm offensive work? Er no. When the audience were polled later in the day, 17% had a better opinion of Reform than they had before hearing Farage speak, while 48% had a less favourable opinion. The most popular speaker of the day, according to the polls? That was Green MP Sian Berry. So, still some work to do shoring up that Gen Z Reform vote then.

Louise Haigh thrown under a bus. She was too good for a Starmer cabinet. Perhaps now she'll tell us what she really thinks about the paltry sums being invested by Labour into active travel, the 50% hike in bus fares, all while fuel duty is frozen.

Two headlines today, side by side. Delegates from rich nations at #COP29 are choosing to allow climate chaos to continue. While those at the sharp end, who aren't responsible for the crisis, will continue to suffer.

Pushing greater financial risk in the name of economic growth. What could possibly go wrong? @nataliegreenpeer.bsky.social bang on the money here in a response to the FT.

⚠️Labour's transport funding reality check ⚠️ 🚗Amount missed out on by freezing fuel duty = £3bn. 🚍Much trumpeted £1bn for buses = 1/3 of this. 🎫Cost of retaining £2 bus fare cap in England = 1/10 of this. 🚶‍♀️🚴🦼Amount granted for active travel just 1/30 of this.
An image from a news story from the Independent showing someone filling their car with fuel at a fuel pump and the headline: Keeping £2 bus fare cap would cost a tenth of fuel duty freeze, says think tank.

❗️Stonking debut performance from @elliechowns.bsky.social on #BBCQT. 🧘‍♀️Calm, dignified and the voice of common sense. 👏Winner of tonight's clapometer by a mile. 💚They'll definitely want her back for more! We all do!

Turns out, oil corps have known since the 1950s the damage their product would do to the planet. It's pay back time. These mega polluters can afford to pay for loss and damage.
