So, "The Electric Company" on PBS had a Spider Man segment I remembered TERRIFYING me, and couldn't fathom why, but then I looked it up and found this image of the costume they used and I think I get it now...

I'm sort of obsessed with how, in the United States, we will just plop a bench down somewhere in the apparent interest of creating public space but then do nothing else to nurture public space? Like these on the side of the Susquehanna river in Harrisburg with no pedestrian access. (Canon AE1, UN54)
