Protect Our Games Act memo announcement by John Kane of the Pennsylvania State Senate, describing: video game manufacturers would be required to give customers at least 60 days' notice before ending access to the game or changing its features.

Additionally, the companies would also be required to provide customers with at least one of the following options:

The ability to use the video game offline
A patch to continue using the game online independent of the company's online gaming services
A refund in an amount equal to the highest price of the digital game offered by the digital game operator within the 12 months before the digital game operator ceases providing services for the ordinary use of the digital game. The refund amount cannot fall below 25% of the initial sale price of the game
Additionally, the bill would include exemptions for subscription-based services where access to games lasts only for the duration of the subscription.

If enacted, the bill would be enforced by the Pennsylvania Attorney General and the district attorneys.

I just used the steam frame for pretty much a whole day straight. First impressions: - The lightest headset I've ever tried - FOV is massive - Screens are a little behind the quest pro with colors (to be expected, but that's okay) - I can't wear glasses in it (lenses are super close to eyes)

Every time I hear "I hate kids/teens" from people they should change their tune to "I hate rights taken away from us". These complaints are about companies or gov ruining adult spaces for safety and teens forced to the streets to be criminalized for "takeovers" Why not make spaces for teens too?

This is definitely accurate, it's a road to enshitifiaction, because your whole priority system changes. If you want to keep a company/project from getting enshitified - support them however you can. I know from experience that trying to survive as company where you keep control can be very rough.

As someone who worked with many avatars in Resonite over the years... Avatar makers/artists DO NOT make avatars exclusive to a discord ffs! It is counter intuitive even before discord enshittified as you can't join every discord server for all your avatars, it's just gatekeeping.

The west - especially the left leaning communities in the us - largely understand gen ai as a combination of economic and intellectual theft, with significant product, cognitive, and ecological risk. The east often sees it as a solution to a manpower problem, and its negative impact as irrelevent.
