I applied for my special ballot on August 25th. Just checked their site and it is still “waiting for approval” (the only step completed is receiving the submission). I cannot see how this process will be completed by the election deadline.

Allen called on other progressive parties - OneCity and the Greens - to pick a single candidate. Green mayoral candidate Pete Fry told reporters that decision will likely happen soon, but he’s gotten firm messages of support from many Vancouver voters, so he has no plans to end his campaign.

Here in Europe with my shoes melting into the sidewalk, I'm reflecting on Vancouver. Once a climate leader, we're now run by ideologues who tear out bike lanes and put in gas pipes. No city can solve the climate crisis alone but if Vancouver can't lead, why would anyone try? It makes me sad.
