An Chathair Mhór • Cahermore Stone Fort When it comes to early medieval landscapes, there are few places in Ireland, or indeed anywhere, that can compete with the Burren of County Clare. The relatively low-impact agriculture practised here for centuries has preserved a wealth of monuments.

I went to see Naza in Boston this week & it’s devastating. It’s currently showing in cinemas internationally, including across the US. Encourage anyone to see it who still denies that a genocide has been taking place in Gaza. Let them hear that directly from the people who have been carrying it out.

The Spiked shiekdbug, blending in so well with his surroundings. While most shieldbugs are vegetarian, this larger shieldbug is a predator, and feasts on smaller invertebrates. The amazing prehistoric spikes at the shoulders are used in combat with other Spiked shieldbugs. Amazing nature!

Lesser Bladderwort doesn't get enough nutrients from the bog and has adapted to survive. The bladder sacs within the undergrowth that the flower grows on at the bog pool release a scent into the bog pool that attracts tiny microscopic life. The bladder sacs open, they are sucked inside and digested.
